Jun 19, 2026 at 12:06 PMFRYTE Mobility, in cooperation with TRATON Charging Solutions and MAN Charge&Go, has initiated a research pilot for the reservation of charging infrastructure at three MAN locations. In Munich, Dachau, and Nuremberg, charging points can now be specifically reserved for four participating logistics companies in the delivery zones of the MAN production sites for the first time.
Reservation of Charging Points for Logistics Companies
As part of the pilot project, transport service providers have the opportunity to reserve charging points on the production site in advance via the FRYTE platform. The logistics partners can book binding charging slots tailored to their specific transport and delivery processes. The companies Kloiber, Johann Dettendorfer Spedition, Jan de Rijk Logistics, and Schachinger Logistik are participating in this pilot phase.
The project addresses a central aspect of electrification in supply traffic: electric trucks not only require powerful charging points but also reliable access to these within tight time windows. Particularly in factory traffic and scheduled logistics processes, the predictable availability of charging infrastructure is crucial for the operational deployment of electric trucks.
Technical Integration and Booking Rules
The charging infrastructure is operated by TRATON Charging Solutions. Through TRATON’s backend system, the charging infrastructure has been integrated into the FRYTE platform via the OCPI interface, enabling the technical and administrative reservation of charging points. As part of this integration, specific booking rules have been defined, which include opening hours, available charging windows, and flexibility rules for bookings. These rules are digitally represented and made available to the participating logistics partners.
This process enables a seamless handling: from transport planning to booking the charging slot to utilizing the charging infrastructure at the site. This is intended to provide logistics companies with more planning security, while the operators of the charging infrastructure can achieve improved management and utilization of their charging points.
Integration of Authentication and Billing
In the pilot project, MAN Charge&Go is used as the charging card for authentication and billing of the charging electricity. The participating transport service providers receive corresponding charging cards, which allow drivers to unlock the booked charging processes on-site. This integrated solution simplifies the process by combining reservation, access, and billing.
Maximilian Zähringer, CEO of FRYTE Mobility, emphasizes the importance of predictable charging infrastructure for the reliable use of electric trucks in industrial supply traffic. He states: “With the integrated reservation via FRYTE, we create the opportunity for logistics companies to directly incorporate charging processes into their planning.”
Petra Sundström, Managing Director at TRATON Charging Solutions, highlights that the connection of the platform via OCPI to the FRYTE platform transforms the charging infrastructure into a predictable, reservable service. Michael Zehmisch, Head of eSolutions Development at MAN Transport Solutions, adds that MAN Charge&Go creates a clear and user-friendly process for the participating logistics partners.
