Geis Gruppe achieves record revenue in 2025
Apr 27, 2026 at 11:14 AMThe Ehrhardt Partner Group (EPG) has established a strategic partnership with Locus Robotics to expand its technological network in the field of warehouse automation. This collaboration enables a complete integration of the Locus Robotics system solution into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) LFS. Companies benefit from an immediately deployable solution aimed at accelerating picking processes and allowing for flexible scaling in warehouse operations. The Locus Fulfillment solution is already being utilized in the Logistics Solution Center in Boppard.
Response to Increasing Market Demands
In light of the growing demand for efficient solutions to address dynamic market requirements and increasing order volumes, EPG is responding with this cooperation. Many companies face the challenge of stabilizing their picking processes while simultaneously reducing the burden on employees. The combination of LFS and the software-driven fulfillment solution from Locus Robotics provides a solid foundation to tackle these challenges. The mobile units of the Locus solution take on transport-intensive tasks, relieve employees, and enable structured process control, where all operations are coordinated through the WMS.
The WMS manages the order inventory and distributes orders to the autonomous robots controlled by the Locus software. These robots navigate safely through the warehouse, position themselves at designated picking locations, and contribute to time savings through shorter travel distances. This leads to a reduction in picking times and an increase in picking performance. Jens Heinrich, Principal Strategic Product Manager at EPG, emphasizes: “With Locus Robotics, we gain a strong partner whose technology perfectly aligns with our goal of making automation quickly integrable and usable in everyday warehouse operations.” He highlights that the live integration in the Logistics Solution Center represents a significant added value for companies looking to make an automation decision.
Tangible Automation in the Logistics Solution Center
The Logistics Solution Center at EPG’s headquarters in Boppard-Buchholz offers a practical framework where various hardware and software components are demonstrated in operational interplay. With the integration of the Locus Robotics system solution, the existing showroom is expanded to include another example of technology-open automation. Visitors have the opportunity to experience the interaction between manual and robot-assisted process steps in real-time and gain transparent insights into the control logic of LFS.
The comparability of different technologies represents a significant advantage. In addition to solutions from the cube storage provider AutoStore and the lift storage provider Kardex, EPG now also showcases the fulfillment concept from Locus Robotics. This provides a comprehensive picture of how different levels of automation interconnect, can be scaled, and which configurations are suitable for various warehouse profiles. Companies can make informed decisions about entry scenarios or expansion stages based on this information.
Outlook on Future Developments
The partnership with Locus Robotics is part of a continuous expansion of EPG’s automation portfolio. Currently, further robotics solutions and additional demonstrators for the Logistics Solution Center are being prepared. The goal is to provide companies with a comprehensive platform through which both entry projects and large-scale automation initiatives can be implemented on a common technological basis.
