Lufthansa Cargo invests in the future
Apr 15, 2026 at 9:04 AMThe nominees for the Swiss Logistics Award 2026 have been announced. In the 31st edition of this prestigious industry award, Swiss companies demonstrate how logistics is evolving through innovation, digitalization, and sustainability. The three selected projects cover key future topics – from urban supply to intelligent hospital logistics and efficiency improvements in transport.
Three Projects – Three Approaches
With the project „City Cargo Zurich,“ Coop and railCare show how urban logistics can be reimagined. By systematically shifting transport to rail, goods are delivered to the city daily via a combined rail-road system. The goal is to relieve traffic congestion and significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. Numerous sales points are already supplied this way, saving tens of thousands of truck trips per year.
A completely different approach is behind the collaboration between Klinik Seeschau and Post CH AG. Here, the focus is not on the transport of goods, but on optimizing internal processes. Intelligent logistics solutions relieve care and surgical teams, allowing them to concentrate more on their core tasks. At the same time, the project specifically addresses the increasing shortage of skilled workers in healthcare.
The participant field is complemented by Eiger Mechanics GmbH, which presents its aerodynamic element „TELP“ as a technical solution to reduce fuel consumption in the transport sector. The innovation aims to unlock efficiency potentials in road transport while also contributing to emission reduction.
Award Ceremony at GS1 Excellence Day in Zurich
The three nominations highlight the range of modern logistics solutions – from infrastructural concepts to process innovations and technical developments. The award ceremony for the Swiss Logistics Award 2026 will take place on June 18 during the GS1 Excellence Day at StageOne in Zurich.
