Mar 2, 2026 at 12:20 PMThe Fracht Group and Grupo Tical Holding S.A. have launched a joint venture to improve logistics and supply chain connectivity in Central America. The aim of the collaboration is to establish offices in six countries, including Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua. This initiative is intended to expand the presence of the Fracht Group from Canada to Patagonia.
The Fracht Group, an internationally operating logistics company with its global headquarters in Basel, will collaborate in this joint venture with Grupo Tical, one of the leading logistics service providers in Central America. The two companies are combining their expertise to create a seamless logistics corridor that connects the entire American continent. This is expected to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the services offered and support international trade.
Focus on Freight Activities
The joint venture will focus on freight activities, which include air freight, sea freight, and related services for coordinating the supply chain. William Sullivan (right), who was appointed VP for Corporate Development at the Fracht Group only at the end of February, emphasizes the need for a logistics partner that possesses both local expertise and global reach. He states, “This joint venture provides exactly that – it allows shippers access to Tical’s regional capabilities, supported by the global network of the Fracht Group.”
Grupo Tical brings over 50 years of experience in the region and has extensive expertise in contract logistics and project management. Luis G. Ramírez (left) from Grupo Tical emphasizes, “In Central America, we want to complement Fracht’s portfolio by leveraging our decades of experience to create the most comprehensive end-to-end service offering in the market.”
The joint venture underscores the commitment of both companies to operational excellence and the provision of reliable freight solutions that support supply chains in Central America and beyond.
