AD Ports Group acquires MBS Logistics

The MBS Logistics Group, an international forwarding and logistics provider headquartered in Cologne (Germany), has reached a binding agreement for the complete takeover by the AD Ports Group. The transaction includes the forwarding and logistics activities of MBS Logistics in Germany, Switzerland, the Asia-Pacific region and the USA, whilst joint ventures are excluded. The completion of the acquisition is subject to customary regulatory approvals and other closing conditions and is expected in the second half of 2026.

Expansion of its services

In 2025, MBS Logistics achieved revenues of EUR 205 million. The company pursues a diversified business model with activities in forwarding in Central Europe and an established network in East and Southeast Asia. With nearly four decades of industry experience, MBS Logistics expands the network of the AD Ports Group’s subsidiary Noatum Logistics by 26 offices worldwide, which employ over 450 professionals. The core offerings in forwarding include air, sea, road and rail transport, as well as contract logistics, project cargo, customs and compliance services, and time-critical multimodal solutions. MBS Logistics serves a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, e-commerce, engineering, technology, consumer goods, healthcare and other sectors.

The integration of MBS Logistics will strengthen Noatum Logistics‘ presence in Europe and Asia and advance the development of the logistics cluster of the AD Ports Group, which is among the fastest-growing integrated trade and logistics platforms worldwide. This will open new market opportunities and enhance the group’s ability to scale its operations.

Leadership and continuity

The acquisition is based on solid foundations and a global network established by Noatum Logistics. Under the leadership of Jochen Thewes, the newly appointed CEO of the logistics cluster, the group pursues a strategic expansion strategy that combines organic growth with targeted, value-enhancing acquisitions. The current shareholders of MBS Logistics will fully exit the operational business, except for Joerg Roehl, the group CEO and shareholder. He will continue to serve as the group CEO of MBS Logistics and play a key role in the combined organisation, whilst also becoming part of the leadership team of Noatum Logistics and contributing to strategic development.

Operational continuity for customers and partners will be fully maintained, with services, points of contact and ongoing projects continuing without interruption. The focus is on expanding the logistics offerings, supporting long-term sustainable growth, and creating opportunities for all employees.
