Jul 3, 2026 at 1:04 PMThe HOFER KG has launched a partnership with myflexbox to, as the Austrian branch of Aldi Süd states, „improve the shopping experience for their customers.“ As part of this collaboration, parcel stations will be set up in the parking lots of HOFER stores. This measure aims to provide customers with the opportunity to combine their shopping with the receipt and dispatch of parcels. So far, 14 locations in Vienna, Tyrol, Lower Austria, and Upper Austria have already been put into operation.
Expansion of Service Offerings
HOFER aims to make shopping as simple and pleasant as possible. In addition to a clearly structured shelf concept and a wide range of fresh products, the use of parcel stations in the stores is now also offered. Friedrich Pucandl (l.), Managing Director of Real Estate at HOFER KG, emphasizes the benefits of this initiative: „With one stop, you can take care of several errands – it’s practical and saves time.“ The parcel stations allow customers to send and receive their parcels while they do their shopping.
myflexbox offers a variety of parcel services, including DPD, UPS, GLS, FedEx, and DHL Express. Jonathan Grothaus, CEO and founder of myflexbox, highlights that integrating parcel logistics into people’s daily lives is crucial. „Customers can combine their shopping with parcel receipt, dispatch, or returns. 24/7, open to all providers, and directly at high-traffic locations,“ explains Grothaus.
Planned Expansion of Parcel Stations
The partnership with myflexbox complements the existing network of over 300 parcel stations available to HOFER customers. In the coming months, approximately 25 new stations are planned, of which 14 are already in operation. These are located in Vienna and Upper Austria, including at the main office in Sattledt. Currently, the parcel stations are available in cities such as Zirl, Klosterneuburg-Weidling, Kierling, Krems, Wels, and Peuerbach.
The initiative by HOFER and myflexbox demonstrates how the grocery retailer continuously expands its service offerings to meet the needs of its customers.
