BAUKING expands its storage capacity with OHRA
Sep 9, 2022 at 6:35 PMThe LIS Logistische Informationssysteme AG is certified according to the standards DIN EN 50600 and ISO 27001:2017, thus committing to the highest level of information security for its customers. After a comprehensive review, the official certificates were issued to the software company last August.
(Greven) “During the certification process, we primarily thought of our customers. They trust us with their sensitive business information and rely on us to keep it safe,” says Erik Roguschke, Information Security Officer of LIS Logistische Informationssysteme AG. “As an internationally operating company, it is important for us to meet the requirements of a European standard. This way, our foreign customers can immediately see that their data is in good hands with us.”
For the certification according to DIN EN 50600, the software company from the Münsterland had to meet requirements for the planning, construction, and operation of the data center, such as power supply, climate control, and fire protection. Through ISO/IEC 27001, LIS AG can demonstrate a compliant operation of the data center with its processes and interfaces.
Large Project with High Effort
“It was a large project with high effort, but also an opportunity to stand out from the direct competition,” says Johannes Willenberg, Head of IT at LIS AG. The requirements were high – many processes within the company were reviewed and adjusted if necessary. “Literally every stone was turned to meet the certification requirements,” says Willenberg.
In addition to process optimizations across all departments – starting from the IT department, which is the core of the certification, to the HR department, software development, procurement, legal department, and the secretariat and accounting – structural adjustments were also made, such as the installation of a separation system for the building. The largest physical measure was the construction of the data center in 2020. This was already planned and built according to the DIN EN 50600 standard.
Already 120 Customers Use the Cloud Services
Already 120 customers are using the LIS Cloud Services with their high security standards. Backup and update services, for example, are automatically deployed. Additionally, using the LIS servers incurs no costs for the acquisition and maintenance of the necessary hardware. This also eliminates the additional effort for implementation and for the personnel managing data backup in the IT departments of the companies. Connecting additional devices and workstations is also possible without any issues.
Continuously Working on Security Processes
“Even though the biggest step has now been taken, we will continuously work on our security processes. Only in this way can we succeed in the annual audits. And this is an absolute must for us, so that our customers can be assured that their data is securely hosted with us,” says Roguschke.
