Jun 25, 2026 at 9:34 AMAfter the full commissioning of the Daimler Truck Global Parts Center (GPC) in Halberstadt, Saxony-Anhalt, the global supply of spare parts for Mercedes-Benz trucks is now organized centrally from this location. The gradual commissioning of the logistics center began in the summer of last year and has recently been completed. According to a company announcement, spare parts from Halberstadt will now be shipped to 20 regional Parts Centers, which in turn supply vehicle dealers in 170 countries.
Optimization of logistics processes
Andreas Spreter, head of the Global Parts Center, emphasizes the importance of a reliable and fast supply of spare parts for customer satisfaction: “A reliable and fast supply of spare parts ensures that our customers‘ trucks are in operation as much as possible,” explains Spreter. However, the commissioning of a new logistics location also brings challenges, as new processes, systems, and facilities must be coordinated.
With the takeover of the last markets and customers from the previous location in Germersheim on June 22, 2026, the GPC in Halberstadt has now assumed full responsibility for the global supply of spare parts. Spreter describes this step as a significant advancement for the company and highlights that optimizing processes and systems at the new location is currently the highest priority. „We want to meet our customers‘ expectations, in line with: Trucks you can trust,“ says Spreter.
