Vetropack launches lightweight Rhine wine bottle

Vetropack has launched a new Rhine wine bottle (pictured left) that, with a weight of just 350 grams, is considered the lightest of its kind in Europe, according to the manufacturer. This technical advancement of the classic 0.75-liter bottle aims to enhance environmental friendliness in the Austrian wine industry, as stated by the company headquartered in Bülach (Switzerland). The bottle retains its familiar dimensions.

Solutions for the Wine Industry

The reduced weight of the bottle offers several advantages for wine producers, according to Vetropack: it reduces CO2 emissions throughout the entire supply chain, from production to transport and distribution. This not only leads to a better environmental balance but also results in savings on material and logistics costs as well as licensing fees. These aspects are important for export markets that have weight restrictions for glass packaging. Additionally, Vetropack supports a newly introduced reusable wine bottle system in Austria with a specially developed reusable Rhine wine bottle (pictured right).
