Amazon expands logistics for charitable organizations

The Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna and Die Tafel Österreich will receive expanded logistical support through the „Amazon Local Goods“ program. This program, which has been in existence since 2022, aims to optimize the distribution of goods donations and meals to those in need. In 2025, 130 transport routes were already conducted in Vienna, delivering more than 240,000 meals and goods to people in need, according to Amazon.

Expansion of transport capacities

For the year 2026, Amazon plans to expand its transport services. The number of free transport tours will be increased to over 260, which represents a doubling compared to 2025, according to the company. This measure aims to ensure that goods donations reach recipients quickly and without bureaucracy. The support includes not only the transport of food and goods donations but also professional assistance for the aid organizations in logistical matters. As part of this expanded cooperation, an initial logistics expert exchange took place between the logistics teams of Amazon and the aid organizations.
