REWE automates logistics center
Feb 19, 2026 at 11:57 AMThe Rhenus Group has integrated a fuel cell truck from Daimler Truck into its regular logistics operations. This step marks the beginning of a one-year practical test conducted in collaboration with four other companies, as the company reports. The aim of the test is to gain reliable performance data on hydrogen drives in road freight transport.
Integration into Daily Logistics
The hydrogen truck will be deployed at the Duisburg location and is integrated into the company’s operational processes. It will be used five days a week, both during the day and at night. According to company information, this allows for nearly continuous use of the vehicle in real logistics operations. The truck’s routes include both local trips of about 150 kilometers and long-distance operations of up to 650 kilometers. These transport requirements are intended to cover both traditional distribution traffic and long-distance routes.
