ASTAG warns of rising traffic congestion in Switzerland
Jun 30, 2026 at 11:38 AMThe logistics industry in Germany plays a central role in the economy and is the third-largest economic sector in the country. Without effective planning and execution of goods flows, reliable supply is not possible. In this context, the company REYHER, which specializes in C-parts management and intralogistics, is part of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
Review and Outlook of the Logistics Initiative
During a celebratory event, the members of the initiative reflected on their joint successes and discussed future challenges. The goal is to further enhance Hamburg’s position as an international hub in supply chains. This requires a committed community that is dedicated to the location and actively participates in its development.
In May, more than 500 companies were honored as part of the campaign „5-Star Logistics Location Hamburg.“ These companies have demonstrated Hamburg’s and the metropolitan region’s innovation and performance capabilities through their efforts and contribute to further development. The awards were presented on behalf of Dr. Melanie Leonhard, the President of the Authority for Economy, Labor, and Innovation.
Dr. Peter Bielert, Managing Director of REYHER and board member of the Logistics Initiative, expressed his pleasure at the recognition: „As a traditional Hamburg company, we are very connected to the city – and at the same time dependent on the functioning logistics network.“ He emphasized the importance of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg as the most important network where companies from various sectors and authorities come together to actively shape the future of the logistics location. Bielert expressed pride that many companies are collaborating on the strategy for the logistics location Hamburg 2035 to ensure the reliability and quality of deliveries.
Hamburg’s Logistics Location Strategy until 2035
With over 100,000 employees, the logistics industry is one of the key sectors in Hamburg. To meet the challenges of the market and to compete with other significant locations, a location strategy until 2035 was developed last year. This strategy aims to ensure that Hamburg takes a leading role in Germany and positions itself internationally as an outstanding logistics location. The goal is to establish Hamburg as a logistics location that deserves five out of five stars.
