On Tuesday, eight proposals with a total of 11 individuals were nominated at Munich Airport. The host of the session was the automation specialist Exotec. A total of 30 individuals from nine nations were proposed for the award. The names of the finalists remain traditionally anonymous, while the final decision will be made by an international jury.
Nominations and Jury Decision
The Logistics Hall of Fame Council has nominated the following individuals for induction: Robert Cameron, Head of Production, Logistics & Aftermarket at the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA e.V.) in Berlin; Jens Hügel, Senior Adviser at the IRU in Geneva, Switzerland; Ilona Jüngst, Editor-in-Chief of trans aktuell in Stuttgart; Matthias Pieringer, Editor-in-Chief of Logistik Heute in Munich; Gerhard Schlögel, CEO of HERMES Logistik.Kurier in Vienna; Christoph Scholze, Editor-in-Chief of dhf Intralogistik in Marburg; Heiner Sieger, Editor-in-Chief of the e-Commerce Magazine and Digital Business in Vaterstetten; and Anita Würmser, Managing Partner of impact media projects GmbH and Jury Chair in Ismaning.
The Logistics Hall of Fame documents significant milestones and personalities in logistics. For induction, it is crucial that an achievement has advanced logistics beyond the boundaries of its own company. By decision of the Council, multiple individuals will be inducted into the Hall of Fame simultaneously for the first time in ten years in 2026. This reflects the multitude of influential personalities and achievements that have shaped the industry over the years.
The final decision will be made by an independent jury consisting of around 70 internationally recognized experts from business, science, politics, and media. The ceremonial induction into the Logistics Hall of Fame will take place during the annual gala reception at the Vienna Hofburg.
The Logistics Hall of Fame is accessible at www.logisticshalloffame.net and provides comprehensive information about significant milestones in logistics and their pioneers. The initiative honors international personalities who have made significant contributions to the advancement of logistics and supply chain management. The goal is to document the milestones of logistics and recognize their creators to emphasize the importance of logistics for the economy and society. Additionally, innovative logistics projects by humanitarian organizations are awarded the Lynn C. Fritz Medal for Excellence in Humanitarian Logistics, which is sponsored by the Fritz Institute. The non-profit initiative receives support from politics, associations, media, business, and science, under the patronage of Patrick Schnieder, the Federal Minister for Transport.
