May 21, 2026 at 12:10 PMDKV Mobility has introduced a new charging card for transport companies with electric commercial vehicles. The DKV Card +Charge Truck provides access to over 3,000 verified truck-compatible charging points in more than 17 European countries. This card complements the company’s existing portfolio and is part of the strategy to facilitate the transition to alternative drives for customers.
Electrification in road freight transport has not yet achieved the same progress as in the passenger car segment, but it is gaining increasing importance. Regulatory requirements and CO₂ reduction targets are driving development, while fleet operators face challenges, particularly regarding access to suitable charging infrastructure and the integration of different billing systems.
Complexity of Energy Supply
Sven Mehringer, Managing Director at DKV Mobility, emphasizes the increasing complexity of energy supply for commercial vehicles. „The energy supply for commercial vehicles is becoming more complex – with more drive types, more providers, more billing systems. The DKV Card +Charge Truck provides fleet operators with an answer: one card for all drives, all services, one billing,“ explains Mehringer. This solution aims to advance the company’s development towards an integrated mobility platform.
The requirements for charging stations for trucks are significantly higher than for passenger cars. DKV Mobility evaluates each station in its network based on strict minimum standards, which include a minimum roof height of four meters and a minimum clearance width of 2.7 meters. At over 80 percent of the locations, charging capacities of more than 300 kW are available to meet the energy needs of heavy vehicles.
Tim Dambor, Director of Product Management eMobility Roaming at DKV Mobility, highlights that reliability is crucial for drivers and dispatchers. „With our verified network and real-time overview in the app, both know: the next station is reachable, and the vehicle can actually charge there,“ says Dambor.
Additionally, companies benefit from transparent charging conditions at many of the truck-compatible stations. Prices are viewable in real-time through the DKV Mobility app. DKV Mobility guarantees that every kilowatt-hour comes from renewable energy sources. Furthermore, the card provides access to additional services such as repair, tire service, and vehicle washing at selected locations. If no suitable charging point is nearby, drivers can access the entire DKV Mobility network with approximately 1.2 million charging points.
The DKV Card +Charge Truck is now available across Europe and is aimed at transport companies transitioning to electromobility. The card enables both the charging of electric trucks and the refueling of conventional vehicles through a unified billing system.
