Lean Department launches CargoCall for streamlined yard management
May 20, 2026 at 2:07 PMTransco has expanded its own fleet with the Mercedes-Benz Actros e600, which offers a range of up to 500 km. With this measure, the German company from Singen, near the Swiss border, aims to further develop long-distance transport towards low-emission transport solutions. The electrification of road freight transport is becoming increasingly important, both from an ecological and an economic perspective. Regulatory requirements and CO₂ reduction targets are driving development, while challenges such as high energy costs and limited charging infrastructure remain.
Electromobility as part of a broader approach
Marko Mustapic, Head of Sales at Transco, emphasizes the significance of the Actros e600 for the economic viability of electromobility in long-distance transport. He explains: “In combination with our own fleet and the European network, a system is created that optimally combines capacity, range, and flexibility.” Transco pursues a technology-open approach that includes not only electric vehicles but also diesel and bio-LNG trucks. This enables the company to meet diverse transport requirements economically and reliably.
Transco’s e-fleet will be expanded to a total of twelve vehicles by 2026, with two more Actros e600 already on the way. LNG is currently being used as a bridging technology, while hydrogen solutions are also being examined as a potential addition to the drive mix. Christian Bücheler, CEO and owner of Transco GmbH, highlights that the transition to alternative drives in international transport is gaining economic significance in light of rising diesel prices.
Stability through a strong own fleet
The expansion of the own fleet is crucial for Transco to ensure operational stability in the transport business. The fleet includes nearly 100 pulling units and more than 300 towed units, including 14 LNG trucks and twelve electric trucks. This structure provides customers with advantages such as higher planning security, stable lead times, and reliable capacity provision, even in tense market phases. Mustapic adds: “Through the drive mix, we can deploy the appropriate technological solution for each route and handle transports both economically and increasingly with lower emissions.”
Transco is also part of a network of around 500 partners in the system transport sector, which provides comprehensive transport capacities across Europe. By integrating electric trucks into its own fleet, Transco combines ecological transformation with operational stability and solidifies its position as a reliable partner in international transport.
