May 12, 2026 at 2:02 PMGarbe Industrial Real Estate Italy inaugurated the MilEast Logistics Park in Covo, Province of Bergamo, on May 12, 2026. The new logistics site covers an area of 22,000 m² and has emerged from the redevelopment of the former Alimonti industrial site. The opening was celebrated with a ceremony marking the completion of a project that is considered an example of urban regeneration.
The logistics center was developed in partnership with SFO Capital Partners and Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management (REIM) and is managed by Prelios SGR. The site is strategically located along the Bergamo-Brescia-Milan transport axis and offers good access to the A35 Brebemi motorway. The park includes two independent logistics units with flexible layouts, 20 loading docks, and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Sustainability in focus
The MilEast Logistics Park follows a sustainable concept and aims for LEED Platinum certification. This includes the use of recycled materials and the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems. Additionally, large green spaces are planned to contribute to noise reduction and environmental improvement. Marco Grassidonio, Country Head Italy of Garbe, emphasized the project’s significance for economic development and environmental responsibility.
Mohamad Abouchalbak, CEO of SFO Capital Partners, highlighted that the park’s opening reflects the strength of the Italian logistics market and that the demand for modern logistics properties in northern Italy remains high. Pierre Jacquot, Co-CEO of Edmond de Rothschild REIM, added that the project is an example of responsible investing that brings both economic and social benefits.
The inauguration was also attended by Andrea Capelletti, the mayor of Covo, who underscored the project’s importance for the local community. The new logistics park is intended not only to provide economic impetus but also to enhance the quality of life in the region. A newly constructed municipal parking lot will also be used for local events.
The MilEast Logistics Park is Garbe’s fourth logistics project in Italy and complements the portfolio, which includes the Giovi Logistics Park and the Nexos Tortona Logistics. With this development, Garbe reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and innovative real estate solutions in the logistics sector.
