The Sirum GmbH, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Hamburg, aims to enhance the competitiveness of transport and logistics companies through automation and digitalization. The company has developed a software solution known as the SIRUM Logistics Suite, which has established itself in the industry. In the past nine months, Sirum has gained 30 new customers and plans to continue this growth trajectory.
Optimization of Workflows
According to Michael Otto, Managing Director of Sirum GmbH, solutions that optimize workflows are in demand during economically challenging times. The SIRUM Logistics Suite enables transport and logistics companies to perform routine tasks more efficiently and free up resources for other important activities. The software covers all logistics processes and is based on a modular Transport Management System (TMS) and a Warehouse Management System (WMS). These modules can be expanded as needed with a Document Management System (DMS), fleet management, and accounting programs. As a web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution in a private cloud, the suite avoids unnecessary costs for hardware and infrastructure while ensuring high security standards.
Sirum was founded without external investors, with the goal of providing a modern, web-based solution that is ready for immediate use. Founders Georg Notter and Dennis Ringhofer emphasized user-friendly design, allowing newcomers to quickly navigate the software. Initially, a TMS was developed tailored to the specific needs of users. In 2022, the solution underwent a comprehensive overhaul, and with the entry of a family-owned company, the possibilities for future developments were expanded.

Strategic Partnerships and Developments
A significant milestone in the company’s history was the decision by Hellmann Worldwide Logistics to implement Sirum’s TMS for its KEP services and acquire a minority stake in the company. This partnership not only created financial conditions for further growth but also secured Sirum’s independence.
Michael Otto emphasizes that the company has gained valuable experience in recent years and now wants to leverage the momentum for further development. A focus is placed on digitalization and security. Recently, order capture and route planning were developed in-house using artificial intelligence (AI). Further application possibilities are currently being examined. Additionally, Sirum relies on its own server structure and certified data centers in Europe to remain independent of large American technology companies.
Otto concludes by stating that it is not enough to rest on past successes. The company actively strives to shape the future and remains open to new developments.
