Apr 15, 2026 at 1:19 PMKoch International has expanded its fleet with three fully electric tractor units, continuing the development of electromobility in heavy-duty transport. This investment is part of a long-term initiative that the company initiated several years ago.
The new vehicles are not the first electric trucks in operation at Koch International. For about two years, the company has been using electrically powered trucks for long-distance transport, which is considered challenging due to range, planning, and infrastructure. Additionally, several electric distribution vehicles are active in local transport.
Expansion of Existing Concepts
With the integration of the new tractor units, Koch International aims to further develop its existing concepts. The higher range of the new vehicles compared to previous models offers additional flexibility in daily operations. However, the actual range depends on various factors, including payload, weather conditions, and driving style.
The use of the new vehicles is supported by a dedicated charging infrastructure at the site, enabling reliable integration into existing processes.
“Electromobility has been an integral part of our operational routine for years,” explains Ingmar Reisige, COO of Koch International. “With the new vehicles, we are purposefully advancing this approach and expanding our operational possibilities in daily business.”
Integration of Sustainability into Corporate Strategy
The use of electrically powered trucks is firmly embedded in Koch International’s corporate strategy. The goal is to reduce emissions where technically feasible and economically sensible. The locally emission-free operation of the vehicles contributes to lowering CO₂ emissions and reducing noise pollution, especially on frequently traveled routes.
The company also responds to the increasing demands of its customers, for whom sustainable transport solutions are becoming increasingly important. “Sustainability is an ongoing learning process for us,” says Reisige. “We implement new technologies where they prove themselves in everyday life – and we develop our processes step by step.”
Pragmatic Approach to Electrification
With the acquisition of the three fully electric tractor units, Koch International reaffirms its pragmatic approach to dealing with new drive technologies. Electrification is not viewed as an image factor but as a long-term investment in robust and future-proof logistics processes.
