
SBB restructures freight transport
May 19, 2026 at 9:44 AMAs of June 1, 2026, Michail Stahlhut will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Rail Innovators Group. This appointment will strengthen the leadership team of the group during a critical phase of growth and expansion in Europe. Julian Remie, the founder of Rail Innovators Group and serving as CEO since its inception, will continue to act as Executive Chairman. In this role, he will be responsible for the strategic direction of the company and drive its entrepreneurial and innovation-driven development.
In recent years, Rail Innovators Group has established a fully integrated rail platform and is now focused on strengthening its management structure. The goal is to accelerate business scaling and further expand its European presence. The first company in the group was founded in 2005, followed by the establishment of Rail Innovators Group in 2011. Since then, the company has developed into a significant rail integrator in Europe, combining logistics, rail transport services, wagon leasing, and maintenance in four integrated business areas.
Strategic Realignment and Growth
Julian Remie commented on the upcoming change: “We have developed Rail Innovators Group into a rapidly growing and fully integrated platform in rail freight transport. Over the past five years, we have tripled our revenue and significantly expanded our asset portfolio. The appointment of Michail as CEO is the natural next step to further strengthen our management structure and advance the company.” Remie will remain closely involved in the strategic direction of the company.
