Customs in Cologne: cocaine instead of coffee from Colombia
Mar 27, 2026 at 1:59 PMThe German piece goods cooperation IDS Logistik GmbH has published the results of its Quality Ranking 2025, in which Hans Geis GmbH + Co KG from Kürnach once again takes first place. This is the second consecutive year that the company has achieved this position. The Noerpel depot in Heidenheim is in second place, while Geis Eurocargo GmbH in Nuremberg ranks third. Kühne + Nagel (AG & Co.) KG in Ilsfeld was awarded „Rising Star of the Year“ after improving by 20 places to rank 20.
Karsten Oehrlein (3rd from left), Head of Logistics at Hans Geis GmbH + Co KG, expressed his pleasure at the renewed success and emphasized the importance of the dedicated team for continuous quality. „Only through the great commitment, cohesion, and high quality awareness of all employees in Kürnach is this long-term success possible,“ Oehrlein explained. He highlighted that the company analyzes its operational processes daily to identify and address weaknesses early.
The IDS Quality Ranking annually evaluates the service quality of partner depots based on clearly defined quality metrics and audit criteria. Key factors include adherence to delivery promises, the quality and completeness of scanning processes in local and long-distance transport, as well as the performance of IDS Express products and the results of regular quality audits.
The Noerpel depot in Heidenheim, which was only put into operation in early 2022, was able to defend its second place from the previous year. Geis Eurocargo GmbH from Nuremberg also remains consistently in third place.
Quality Metrics Show Progress
Michael Bargl, Managing Director of IDS, emphasized the positive developments within the network. „The measures implemented in recent years are showing results, and we have been able to further enhance our stable quality at a high level,“ he said. The quality metrics for 2025 demonstrate that the IDS network continues to operate at a high performance level. Notably, the improvement in unloading scanning in local transport has risen from 97.2% to 99%. The PAD delivery rate has also increased to 98%. In the express sector, peak values of up to 99.7% have been achieved again, underscoring the high process stability.
IDS Logistik GmbH considers itself the largest piece goods cooperation in Germany with 53 locations and around 6,600 employees. In 2025, 14.35 million shipments were processed. The network offers a comprehensive full-service range, from procurement to storage and distribution to returns management.
