The food logistics provider Nagel Group plans to open a new central logistics location near Poznań, Poland. The construction of the customised logistics centre is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at consolidation and efficiency enhancement, scheduled for the first half of 2027. As part of this project, four existing locations will be merged to create a central operational hub.
Consolidation for Efficiency Enhancement
The new logistics center will be built in Panattoni Park Poznań East III. The developer Panattoni is realizing a modern property with an area of approximately 46,000 m². This new facility will serve as the central operational location of the Nagel Group in Poland. The consolidation of the previous warehouses in Diamentowa, Kolumba, Robakowo, and Wiśniowa at a new site aims to increase operational efficiency while providing short distances and a modern working environment for employees.
The new branch is characterised by excellent connectivity to the A2 and S5 highways. Marek Dobrzycki, a partner at Panattoni, emphasised: “The Nagel Group project in Poznań represents the next chapter in our long-standing partnership, which has grown alongside our partner’s expanding activities in Poland.”
Modern Logistics Spaces for Various Temperature Ranges
The new logistics center will feature nearly 42,000 m² of warehouse space and around 4,500 m² of office space, covering all temperature-controlled requirements of food logistics. This includes areas for ultra-fresh (0-2/0-4 °C), fresh (4-7 °C), and ambient temperature (16-18 °C) products, supported by modern temperature control systems. Additionally, the facility will have a cross-dock area of approximately 11,000 m² and 66 loading bays. A total of 300 car and 120 truck parking spaces will be available.
The project meets high sustainability requirements and is certified to the BREEAM standard at the „Excellent“ level.
Strategic Importance of Poznań
André Pleines, executive director for real estate at the Nagel Group, highlights the fact that “with this new location in Poznań we’re laying the foundation for further sustainable growth in Poland. The consolidation of four existing branches into a modern, well-connected logistics facility increases our efficiency and strengthens our operational performance.” Poznań thus becomes a central component of the national and European network of the Nagel-Group.
The logistics market in Poznań has been one of the most dynamic in Poland for years. The excellent infrastructure, proximity to key transport routes, and access to qualified labor make the region a strategically important location on the European logistics map.
