AI transforms workflow processes
Mar 4, 2026 at 11:30 AMRecently, NG.network, the German groupage cooperation, introduced a new service that includes delivery and pickup at unattended loading and unloading points as a standardized product. This step aims to increase flexibility in route planning for receiving partners while simultaneously reducing staffing needs. The service is a response to the ongoing labor shortage and the economic pressure faced by various industries, as the company reports.
Pilot phase
Before the official launch, the product was tested in a pilot project in collaboration with the ZUFALL logistics group. Stephan Opel, Managing Director of NG.network, emphasizes: “Greater flexibility, fewer delivery attempts, and higher customer satisfaction are the results of the product test.” He highlights that the new product represents a unique selling proposition in the logistics sector and aims to meet the needs of network customers in light of current challenges.
How the service works
The new service is similar to delivery with a drop-off authorization and can reportedly be combined with nearly all time-sensitive services. It is based on bilateral agreements between the customer, the shipping partner, and the receiving partner. The customer provides access means such as physical keys, key cards, or access codes to the shipping partner. This information is then passed on to the receiving partner along with a description of the loading or unloading point.
