Jan 30, 2026 at 3:43 PMOn January 28 and 29, 2026, the „LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION“ took place at BERNEXPO, once again establishing itself as a central platform for the Swiss logistics and intralogistics industry. With 179 exhibitors and over 3,121 professional visitors attending the fair alongside the concurrently held „EMPACK,“ the significance of the event under the motto „Discover, Learn, Connect“ was evident. The focus was on innovative technologies in the fields of automation and artificial intelligence, as well as sustainable solutions for logistics and intralogistics.
Industry Exchange and Innovation Power
The fair, regarded as the most important trade fair for (intra-)logistics, conveyor technology, and warehouse automation, confirmed its status as an indispensable platform for the industry. The organizer, Easyfairs Switzerland GmbH, received support from partners such as ASTAG, GS1 Switzerland, SWISS LOGISTICS by ASFL SVBL, ILS, and Swiss SupplyChainTech. The themes of automation, digitalization, sustainability, and efficiency enhancement were at the center of presentations and discussions. The „Guided Tours“ by GS1 Switzerland provided visitors with targeted insights into developments surrounding new 2D codes.
Kristina Nadjarian, interim exhibition manager, emphasized the innovation power of the industry and the value of personal exchange. She stated, „The ‚LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION‘ 2026 has once again demonstrated how innovative and sustainable the Swiss logistics industry is. The fair provided a platform where industry experts, start-ups, and research partners could network and collaboratively develop solutions for the future of logistics.“
Jan Eberle, Head of Industry Engagement Logistics at GS1, highlighted initiatives such as Lean and Green that support companies in reducing emissions. He pointed out that technological developments such as automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence are gaining increasing importance. Eberle also emphasized the challenges of the skilled labor shortage and the need for new perspectives in the industry.
Knowledge Exchange and New Perspectives
A highlight of the fair was the „Logistics Talks,“ organized by GS1 Switzerland. The presentations on topics such as innovations, sustainability, and AI applications attracted significant interest. The event kicked off with the winner of the „Swiss Logistics Award,“ the company Shiptec with its „EcoShip“ concept. Additionally, Ludwig and Nadine Häberle from the University of St. Gallen presented current trends from the logistics market study in Switzerland.
The „Start-up Area“ by Swiss SupplyChainTech provided young companies with the opportunity to showcase their products and services, while the joint stand of Intralogistics Switzerland (ILS) featured 20 exhibitors presenting the latest developments in robotics and automation.
The digital tool „Touch & Collect“ enabled visitors to collect environmentally friendly contact information from exhibitors. The fair organizer Easyfairs focused on sustainability, which was reflected in various areas of the fair, including promoting eco-friendly travel and minimizing waste.
Positive Feedback from Exhibitors
Exhibitors expressed positive feedback about the fair. Armin Koller, CEO of KEMARO AG, reported many high-quality conversations and strong interest in autonomous cleaning solutions. Jürg Frefel, Group CEO of Stöcklin Logistik AG, emphasized the importance of personal exchange and the necessity of thinking holistically about intralogistics solutions. Stefan Meier, Managing Director of Murrelektronik AG, highlighted the positive response at his stand and stressed the importance of dialogue with customers and partners.
The next „LOGISTICS & AUTOMATION“ will take place on January 27 and 28, 2027, in Zurich, again in combination with „EMPACK.“
