Following the appointment of Robin Otto as CEO of ID Logistics Germany, the contract logistics provider has expanded its management team with Detlef Kurzbuch as Commercial Director since April 1, 2022. He reports to Robin Otto, who held this position alongside other responsibilities until his appointment as CEO.

His area of responsibility includes the well-trained team of Research & Development, which serves as the core for well-planned and implemented logistics solutions, as well as Sales & New Business Development, Real Estate, and Innovation Processes.
“In Germany, our growth strategy is clearly designed for the long term. Both significant greenfield solutions, such as our locations opened in 2021 in Kaiserslautern and Kleinostheim, as well as our capabilities in the area of operational transitions, such as the acquisition of A.T.U Logistics last year in Werl, remain in focus. Additionally, we are working on demanding projects with a high degree of innovation and expanding our service offerings for our existing and new customers,” comments Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany. “Detlef Kurzbuch knows the contract logistics business inside out and has deep market knowledge regarding customers, industries, market participants, as well as logistics requirements and solutions. “Companies worldwide are facing significant challenges due to a multitude of changes – whether from the pandemic, geopolitics, or disruptions. For their rapidly changing logistics processes and networks, they need a solid, financially strong, and customer-oriented partner with extensive practical experience,” continues Robin Otto. “With his valuable experiences from numerous strategic and operational management roles, particularly in the area of operational transitions under 613a as well as M&A projects, Detlef Kurzbuch brings the ideal qualifications for this relevant position.”
Flat Hierarchies and Short Decision-Making Paths

What I appreciate about the company are the flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths. The excellent team spirit is a great choice for talents, teams, and leaders alike. I am very much looking forward to further advancing the company’s positive growth strategy,” says Detlef Kurzbuch.
In his new position, Detlef Kurzbuch brings 20 years of experience in long-term leadership roles in contract logistics in both national and international environments. His career includes various executive positions and leading business development at DB Schenker, as well as top leadership roles at Rhenus AG, among others, as a member of the Executive Board for Contract Logistics.
The HR Department Will Be Strengthened
To further support its long-term corporate strategy, ID Logistics Germany will significantly expand its HR department. The goal is to consistently support the growth and profitability of ID Logistics in Germany while simultaneously innovating with HR 2.0. For the demanding leadership of this HR area, ID Logistics was able to recruit a very experienced HR manager as of July 1, 2022. The personnel decision will be announced separately.
