IG Air Cargo Geneva: Board in limbo
May 8, 2026 at 2:27 PMThe fifth edition of the FUTURE LOGISTICS innovation fair in Duisburg celebrated its five-year anniversary on May 5, 2026, impressively demonstrating its role as a central platform for the logistics industry. Despite the changeable weather, numerous industry professionals, experts, and interested parties made their way to the Museum of German Inland Navigation to exchange ideas on current developments and future trends in logistics.
New formats attract great interest
Particular attention was drawn to the two new formats of the fair: the „Live Tech Expo“ and the interactive „CooKI“ masterclass. The Live Tech Expo, which took place outdoors for the first time, quickly became the main attraction. In a spacious festival tent, exhibitors showcased innovative technologies such as an inventory drone and mobile warehouse robotics. The strong interest in these technologies highlighted the need to experience innovations not only theoretically but also in practical application.
The „CooKI“ masterclass, a hands-on workshop for testing an AI for quality control of cookies, was also fully booked. This format entertainingly conveyed to participants the possibilities that artificial intelligence offers in logistics and received consistently positive feedback.
Positive feedback and intense exchange
Jana Honeftidis, project manager of FUTURE LOGISTICS, expressed her delight at the positive response to the event: „We are overwhelmed by the positive feedback and the unwavering support. The weather did not dampen the mood – on the contrary. It showed how committed and weatherproof our community is.“ She emphasized that the discussions were intense and the atmosphere was energetic. The success of the Live Tech Expo confirmed the direction of making innovations more tangible.
The fair also provided a platform for valuable contributions from industry representatives such as Ingo Brauckmann from LOXXESS, Amina Strünck from HAVI, Transport Minister Oliver Krischer, and Lars Nennhaus from duisport. Their speeches sparked intense discussions and contributed to the unique atmosphere of the event. The Museum of German Inland Navigation once again proved to be an ideal location for networking and exchanging ideas at a high level.
