De oorzaak hiervan is de afsluiting van de Noordbrug, die sinds woensdag 3 juni 2026 voor het motorvoertuigverkeer is gesloten. De Bonner Stadtwerke meldt een ongewoon hoog verkeersvolume, wat typisch is voor een &#8222;brugdag&#8220;, aangezien donderdag in Noordrijn-Westfalen een wettelijke feestdag was. Vooral de Kennedybrug, het Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz en de straten rondom het stadhuis zijn zwaar getroffen. Ook aan de Beulerzijde stond het verkeer vast op het Konrad-Adenauer-Platz.<\/p>\n<h3>Afsluiting vanwege schade<\/h3>\n<p>De afsluiting van de Noordbrug werd door de Autobahn GmbH opgelegd vanwege recent ontdekte schade aan de brug. Deze beslissing kwam voor veel burgers en pendelaars als een verrassing. Eerder waren er al beperkingen, waaronder een rijverbod voor vrachtwagens van meer dan 7,5 ton. Technische controles zijn ingesteld om de naleving van deze regeling te waarborgen.<\/p>\n<p>Dirk Brandenburger, technisch directeur van de Autobahn GmbH, benadrukt het belang van veiligheid voor alle weggebruikers. &#8222;De veiligheid van de mensen die dagelijks over deze brug rijden, is niet onderhandelbaar. We handelen op basis van onze huidige deskundige onderzoeksresultaten,&#8220; legt Brandenburger uit. Hij wijst erop dat de gevolgen van de afsluiting voor het verkeer in de regio bekend zijn en dat in nauwe samenwerking met de autoriteiten omleidingsroutes zijn voorbereid.<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast kondigde Brandenburger aan dat er verdere detailonderzoeken zullen worden uitgevoerd om technische mogelijkheden te onderzoeken die een heropening van de brug voor het verkeer mogelijk zouden kunnen maken. Een definitieve beoordeling van de situatie kan echter pas na afloop van deze onderzoeken plaatsvinden. Tot die tijd blijft de brug voor het verkeer afgesloten.<\/p>\n<h3>Langetermijnplanning voor de Rijnovergang<\/h3>\n<p>De Rijnbrug Bonn-Noord, ook wel de Friedrich-Ebert-Br\u00fccke genoemd, werd in 1967 gebouwd. Ze bestaat uit de linker Rijnvoorlandbrug, de stroombrug en de rechter Rijnvoorlandbrug. Op het bouwwerk bevinden zich twee doorlopende rijstroken per rijrichting en elk \u00e9\u00e9n afslaande strook. Dagelijks maken meer dan 100.000 voertuigen gebruik van de brug.<\/p>\n<p>Vanwege de beperkte resterende gebruiksduur van de Rijnbrug Bonn-Noord is een vernieuwing van de Rijnovergang noodzakelijk. Bovendien is het autosnelwegsegment tussen het knooppunt Bonn-Noord en het verkeersknooppunt Bonn-Noordoost opgenomen als uitbreidingsproject (6 rijstroken) in het federale verkeersplan (BVWP) 2030, wat een bredere dwarsdoorsnede voor de brug noodzakelijk maakt.<\/p>\n<p>De technische planning voor de vernieuwing van de Rijnovergang is al begonnen.
