De faciliteit wordt gebouwd in het district Gampaha in de Westprovincie en ligt op slechts zes kilometer van de internationale luchthaven Bandaranaike (CMB). Met deze investering wordt de bestaande samenwerking in het joint venture Hellmann MAS Supply Chain (HMSC) verder uitgebreid. Het nieuwe magazijn zal fungeren als een centraal knooppunt voor de modebranche in het Zuid-Aziatische netwerk van Hellmann en maakt deel uit van de wereldwijde groeistrategie &#8222;Forward2030&#8220;.<\/p>\n<h3>Strategische betekenis van de locatie<\/h3>\n<p>De geografische ligging van Sri Lanka, als schakel tussen Azi\u00eb, Afrika en Europa, benadrukt de strategische relevantie van de nieuwe locatie voor de internationale handel. De faciliteit zal zijn ontworpen om klantgerichte logistieke oplossingen te bieden die voldoen aan de eisen van internationale mode-leveringsketens. Deze ontwikkeling versterkt de internationale aanwezigheid in het mode-segment en legt de basis voor verdere groei in de regio.<\/p>\n<p>Voor MAS Holdings vormt de investering een belangrijke stap in de eigen groeistrategie. Het bedrijf, dat wordt beschouwd als het grootste Apparel-Tech-bedrijf in Zuid-Azi\u00eb, zet met dit project een stap richting de verdere ontwikkeling van de sector en streeft ambitieuze doelen na voor de transformatie van de wereldwijde kledingindustrie.<\/p>\n<p>Het nieuwe logistiek centrum zal worden gebouwd op een oppervlakte van meer dan 8.000 vierkante meter en is speciaal ontworpen voor de eisen van de mode-logistiek. Het zal onder andere beschikken over gescheiden klimaat- en vochtigheidszones en zal worden uitgerust met zonnepanelen op het dak van de hal om een deel van de energievoorziening duurzaam te dekken. De flexibele en schaalbare infrastructuur moet een effici\u00ebnte distributie binnen de regio en richting Azi\u00eb, Afrika en Europa mogelijk maken, terwijl tegelijkertijd hoge normen op het gebied van operationele prestaties en duurzaamheid worden gehandhaafd.<\/p>\n<h3>Focus op samenwerking<\/h3>\n<p>Het project bouwt voort op de langdurige samenwerking tussen Hellmann en MAS Holdings. In het kader van het joint venture Hellmann MAS Supply Chain bundelen de twee bedrijven hun expertise: Hellmann brengt zijn wereldwijde logistieke expertise in, terwijl MAS over uitgebreide kennis beschikt in de kledingproductie en de verdere ontwikkeling van supply chains. Samen bieden zij internationale mode-merken ge\u00efntegreerde end-to-end-oplossingen langs de gehele waardeketen in Zuid-Azi\u00eb aan.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Grzywa, Regional COO Contract Logistics IMEA bij Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, benadrukt de voordelen van Sri Lanka: &#8222;Sri Lanka verenigt eersteklas productie- en logistieke competenties met flexibele mode-leveringsketens en is daarmee een betrouwbare partner voor wereldwijde merken. Met de nieuwe, op maat gemaakte locatie breiden we de end-to-end mode-logistieke competenties van ons joint venture Hellmann MAS Supply Chain gericht verder uit.&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Shakthi Ranatunge, Chief Operating Officer bij MAS Holdings, benadrukt de inzet van zijn bedrijf: &#8222;Deze investering onderstreept de voortdurende inzet van MAS om de positie van Sri Lanka als een wereldwijd concurrerende locatie voor de kledingindustrie verder te versterken.
