Chapman Freeborn OBC, een dochteronderneming van de luchtvaartcharterbroker Chapman Freeborn, opgericht in 2006 in Frankfurt\/Main (Duitsland), heeft een partnerschap gesloten met het in Frankfurt gevestigde klimaatbeschermingsplatform Freeze Carbon om de meting en vermindering van emissies in de tijdkritische luchtvrachtlogistiek te verbeteren. Deze samenwerking, die in oktober 2025 van start ging, maakt deel uit van een bredere klimaatbeschermingsstrategie van het bedrijf, gericht op het verminderen en aanpakken van de resterende emissies.<\/p>\n

De logistiek van On-Board Couriers (OBC) verschilt aanzienlijk van traditionele vrachtplanning, omdat deze vaak op korte termijn en over meerdere regio’s wordt georganiseerd. De zendingen worden vaak op de eerstvolgende beschikbare vlucht vervoerd, wat de mogelijkheid om routes te optimaliseren of ladingen te consolideren vanuit emissieperspectief beperkt. In dit verband ligt de focus op een nauwkeurige meting, operationele effici\u00ebntie en de vermindering van emissies die vanwege de tijdkritische aard van de dienst momenteel niet kunnen worden vermeden.<\/p>\n

De digitale tools van Freeze Carbon stellen Chapman Freeborn OBC in staat om de eigen ecologische voetafdruk consistenter te berekenen, de transparantie te vergroten en de inspanningen voor vermindering langs de waardeketen te ondersteunen. Bovendien biedt de samenwerking toegang tot hoogwaardige klimaatprojecten die meetbare milieu- en sociale effecten realiseren. Door de ondersteuning van geverifieerde initiatieven draagt het bedrijf bij aan bredere inspanningen voor vermindering en prioriteert het tegelijkertijd de vermindering van emissies en operationele effici\u00ebntie, waar mogelijk.<\/p>\n

Nicolas Estrada, projectmanager bij Chapman Freeborn OBC, verklaarde: \u201eDoor onze samenwerking met Freeze Carbon verbeteren we hoe we onze emissies volgen en resterende emissies gestructureerd en transparant aanpakken, terwijl we de snelheid en betrouwbaarheid handhaven die onze klanten verwachten.\u201c Hij voegde eraan toe dat de focus ligt op meetbare klimaatbescherming \u2013 door het verbeteren van effici\u00ebnties, het betrekken van partners en het bijdragen aan verminderinginspanningen in de eigen operaties.<\/p>\n

Voor OBC-aanbieders, waarbij operationele urgentie deel uitmaakt van het servicemodel, moet klimaatbescherming in overeenstemming worden gebracht met de re\u00eble operationele beperkingen. Daarom wordt emissiebeheer steeds meer ge\u00efntegreerd in de dagelijkse planning, met de nadruk op het verlagen van emissies waar mogelijk en het verminderen van de resterende impact door middel van geloofwaardige, datagestuurde benaderingen.<\/p>\n

De samenwerking met Freeze Carbon weerspiegelt een operationeel onderbouwde benadering van duurzaamheid in de luchtvrachtlogistiek, die verbeterde emissiemeting, de betrokkenheid van de waardeketen en de ondersteuning van klimaatprojecten combineert die helpen om resterende emissies te verminderen, terwijl tegelijkertijd hoge prestatienormen worden gehandhaafd.<\/p>\n
