De closing wordt verwacht in het eerste kwartaal van 2026. De Oostenrijkse Post nam in 2013 deel aan de moedermaatschappij ADELHEID, die 100 procent van AEP bezit. In de loop der jaren heeft de Post haar aandelen verhoogd tot 51,52 procent. AEP heeft in 2025 een omzet van ongeveer een miljard euro behaald. Gezien deze ontwikkeling hebben de huidige eigenaren besloten hun aandelen te verkopen om het bedrijf een nieuwe groeifase te bieden.<\/p>\n<p>Na de verkoop zal de Oostenrijkse Post AG zich richten op haar kernactiviteit als e-commerce dienstverlener. Dit omvat met name activiteiten in Zuidoost- en Oost-Europa, evenals in Turkije. De nieuwe eigenaar van AEP, The Platform Group, heeft al ervaring in de farmasector en is van plan, volgens de Post, de farmagroothandel in zijn bestaande aanbod te integreren.
