Met een van de voertuigen biedt Daimler Truck geselecteerde bezoekers de mogelijkheid om mee te rijden in de brandstofcel-vrachtwagen tijdens de IAA Transportation 2022.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(Stuttgart\/Hannover) Hiermee demonstreert Mercedes-Benz Trucks de praktische toepasbaarheid van een volledig beladen 40-ton waterstof-vrachtwagen op openbare wegen, inclusief tanken. Op tijd voor de start van de IAA maakt H2 MOBILITY Duitsland dit mogelijk bij een Shell-station in Laatzen, nabij het beurscomplex.<\/p>\n<p>Bij het tanken wordt groene en daarmee CO<sub>2<\/sub>-neutrale waterstof gebruikt. De prototypische Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck, die is goedgekeurd voor de weg, wordt aangedreven en getankt met gasvormige waterstof. Op de stand van Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Hal 19\/20 wordt tijdens de IAA Transportation 2022 in Hannover ook een andere GenH2 Truck-prototype met vloeibare waterstoftanks tentoongesteld.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Voorkeur voor vloeibare waterstof<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Bij de ontwikkeling van waterstofgebaseerde aandrijvingen geeft Daimler Truck op lange termijn de voorkeur aan vloeibare waterstof. Deze energiedrager heeft in deze aggregatietoestand in vergelijking met gasvormige waterstof een aanzienlijk hogere energiedichtheid per volume. Hierdoor kan er meer waterstof worden vervoerd, wat de actieradius aanzienlijk vergroot en zo een vergelijkbare prestatie van het voertuig mogelijk maakt als die van een conventionele diesel-vrachtwagen. Het doel van de ontwikkeling is een actieradius van tot 1.000 kilometer of meer zonder tankstop. Dit maakt de vrachtwagen bijzonder geschikt voor flexibele en veeleisende toepassingen, vooral in het belangrijke segment van het zware vrachtvervoer.
