De LHG-dochter European Cargo Logistics (ECL) draagt bij aan deze groei. Het transportbedrijf, dat zich richt op intermodale vervoersstromen, heeft eind november een nieuwe verbinding naar Itali\u00eb gestart. De nieuw aangesloten terminal bevindt zich in Melzo, nabij Milaan. De noord-Italiaanse industri\u00eble locatie is in eerste instantie twee keer per week verbonden met L\u00fcbeck en daarmee met talrijke Oostzeehavens.<\/h5>\n<p>(L\u00fcbeck) Het ECL-netwerk groeit gestaag. De belangrijkste verbindingen in het portfolio, met in totaal 27 vertrekkende ritten per week in beide richtingen, zijn de verbindingen van en naar Verona, eveneens in Noord-Itali\u00eb, en Ludwigshafen en Duisburg. &#8220;De trend gaat steeds meer naar klimaatvriendelijk transport, en dat helpt ons natuurlijk enorm om ons netwerk op het spoor continu verder uit te breiden en te verdichten,&#8221; stelt ECL-directeur J\u00f6rg Ullrich vast. &#8220;Wereldwijd opererende vervoerders vragen gericht naar nieuwe lijnen bij ons. Samen kunnen we veel opzetten.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h5>Transportketen van Zuid-Itali\u00eb tot de Baltische Staten<\/h5>\n<p>Onlangs heeft ECL de tentakels in de richting van de Baltische Staten uitgestrekt. Met een Letse partner exploiteren de L\u00fcbecker sinds kort een verbinding tussen Liep\u0101ja en Riga.
