In opdracht van Warriors of Wildlife zijn de in Oekra\u00efne geboren roofdieren veilig naar Zuid-Afrika gebracht. In totaal heeft de non-profitorganisatie 28 roofdieren en andere dieren uit precaire omstandigheden in Oekra\u00efne gered.<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>(Bonn) In het verleden heeft DHL Global Forwarding al de verhuizing van verschillende bruine beren en panda&#8217;s ondersteund, en recentelijk ook het transport van Kaavan, &#8220;de eenzaamste olifant ter wereld&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Om de reis voor onze bijzondere gasten zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken, is het in de eerste plaats belangrijk om goed vakkennis en een goed ingespeeld team te hebben. Onze &#8216;leeuwen en valken van DHL&#8217;, zoals ik mijn team uit het Midden-Oosten en Afrika graag noem, hebben de dieren veilig naar hun nieuwe thuis gebracht. In het dierenreservaat van Warriors of Wildlife zijn ze eindelijk weer waar ze thuishoren - twee van hen hebben zelfs Zuid-Afrikaanse ouders. De leeuwen Hercules, Cher, Khaya, Ilana, en de leeuw die door ons Turkse luchtvrachtteam Arslan is genoemd, evenals de tijgerin Kisa, waren in totaal 72 uur met ons onderweg. Het was geen gemakkelijke taak, maar een die we graag en met veel toewijding hebben vervuld,&#8221; zegt Amadou Diallo, CEO van DHL Global Forwarding Midden-Oosten en Afrika.<\/p>\n<p>De roofdieren komen uit een priv\u00e9dierentuin in Tsjernivtsi en een dierentuin in Mykolajiw, in het zuiden van Oekra\u00efne. DHL bracht ze van daar naar een opvangcentrum, dat persoonlijk wordt geleid door de directeur van de dierenbeschermingsorganisatie, Lionel de Lange. De Simbonga Game Farm &amp; Sanctuary ligt in de buurt van Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) in de Zuid-Afrikaanse provincie Oost-Kaap. Gedurende de hele reis werden de dieren begeleid en gecontroleerd door dierenartsen. In Oekra\u00efne werd het DHL-team tot aan het vertrek ondersteund door een lokale dierenarts. Samen met de directeur van Warriors for Wildlife en een andere dierenarts gingen de katten aan boord van een vrachtvliegtuig op de internationale luchthaven van Kiev-Boryspil. Na aankomst op de luchthaven O.R. Tambo in Johannesburg en een korte medische controle, gingen de tijgers en leeuwen per vrachtwagen verder naar de laatste etappe van hun reis naar de Simbonga Game Farm &amp; Sanctuary. Hier konden de roofdieren zich eerst enkele uren acclimatiseren voordat ze voor het eerst in hun leven gras onder hun poten voelden.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Transport van roofdieren altijd een grote uitdaging<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>&#8220;Het transport van roofdieren is altijd een grote uitdaging en vereist het vertrouwen van alle betrokkenen. Met een ervaren logistiek partner zoals DHL konden we het complexe project soepel co\u00f6rdineren en de dieren veilig naar huis brengen. De leeuwen en de tijgerin leven nu in een diervriendelijke omgeving en worden goed verzorgd,&#8221; legt Lionel de Lange, directeur van Warriors of Wildlife en van de Simbonga Game Farm &amp; Sanctuary, uit.<\/p>\n<p>Warriors of Wildlife is een non-profitorganisatie die zich richt op het redden, verhuizen en verder verzorgen van mishandelde en verwaarloosde wilde dieren in gevangenschap.
