DB Schenker neemt deel aan het Kroatische start-up voor robotica, Gideon Brothers. Het gaat om een Serie-A-financiering voor de verdere ontwikkeling van kunstmatige intelligentie en 3D-zicht. Klanten van DB Schenker krijgen veilige toegang tot intelligente oplossingen voor materiaalhandling. Xavier Garijo, bestuurslid voor contractlogistiek bij DB Schenker, wordt lid van de Raad van Bestuur.<\/p>\n

(Essen\/Zagreb) DB Schenker en Gideon Brothers hebben vandaag een deelname van de wereldwijde logistiek aan het Kroatische start-up voor robotica- en AI-oplossingen aangekondigd. DB Schenker neemt als een van de investeerders deel aan de Serie-A-financieringsronde van in totaal 31 miljoen dollar, waarmee de ontwikkeling en commercialisering van autonome mobiele robots (AMR) op basis van kunstmatige intelligentie en 3D-zicht wordt bevorderd. De technologie is al ge\u00efmplementeerd in het magazijn van DB Schenker in Leipzig. Xavier Garijo, bestuurslid voor contractlogistiek bij DB Schenker, wordt lid van de Raad van Bestuur van Gideon Brothers.<\/p>\n

Toegang tot eersteklas robotica<\/strong><\/h5>\n

“Deze investering in de ontwikkeling van autonome mobiele robots onderstreept opnieuw de ambitie van DB Schenker om een koploper in innovatie te zijn. Onze samenwerking met Gideon Brothers garandeert ons toegang tot eersteklas robotica en intelligente oplossingen voor materiaalhandling. Processen en workflows effici\u00ebnter en productiever<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Gideon Brothers heeft zich gespecialiseerd in de flexibele automatisering van horizontale en verticale materiaaltransportprocessen voor logistiek, opslag, productie en detailhandel. Geavanceerde mobiele robots en complete softwareoplossingen voor autonome processen binnen en buiten ondersteunen bedrijven bij de uitdagingen van complexe toeleveringsketens: toenemende klantverwachtingen, toenemende productvariabiliteit en logistieke volumes, een groeiende verscheidenheid aan distributiekanalen en uiteindelijk een tekort aan vakbekwaam personeel. AMR’s maken processen en workflows effici\u00ebnter en productiever. Weinig waarde toevoegende taken, zoals het transporteren, ophalen of beschikbaar stellen van producten, worden overgenomen. Hierdoor worden werknemers vrijgemaakt voor taken die een hogere waarde in de operatie vertegenwoordigen. DB Schenker heeft al autonome robots van Gideon Brothers ge\u00efmplementeerd op zijn locatie in Leipzig en kiest daarmee voor de flexibele oplossing voor bestaande magazijnen, waar het de productiviteit kan verhogen zonder verbouwingswerkzaamheden te vereisen.<\/p>\n

Wereldwijde markt voor mobiele robotica groeit snel<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Volgens een recente studie van ABI Research zal de wereldwijde markt voor mobiele robotica tegen 2030 oplopen tot 158,6 miljard dollar. Tegen die tijd zullen er meer dan 15 miljoen autonome mobiele robots op de wereld zijn. Ongeveer 90% van deze machines zal beschikken over een eigen visuele waarneming. De Serie-A-financieringsronde wordt geleid door Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT), de venture- en groeipoot van Koch Industries, Inc. Gideon Brothers zal zijn Raad van Bestuur uitbreiden met twee ervaren branche-experts: Annant Patel, Director, KDT, en Xavier Garijo, bestuurslid voor contractlogistiek, DB Schenker.<\/p>\n
