DHL Supply Chain digitaliseert zijn supply chain-processen verder. Tot 2022 is de logistieke specialist van plan om wereldwijd tot 2.000 Assisted Picking-robots in zijn magazijnen in te zetten.<\/p>\n<p>(Bonn) DHL Supply Chain, de op contractlogistiek gespecialiseerde tak van Deutsche Post DHL Group, maakt een raamovereenkomst bekend ter uitbreiding van de samenwerking met Locus Robotics. Nadat de eerste investeringen in Assisted Picking-robots in commerci\u00eble operaties succesvol zijn gebleken, is het bedrijf nu van plan om wereldwijd tot 2.000 van deze orderpicking-robots in te zetten tegen 2022. Hiermee wordt de logistieke specialist de grootste afnemer van Locus Robotics ter wereld. De Assisted Picking-robots worden vooral ingezet in e-commerce- en consumptiegoederenmagazijnen om te helpen bij het orderpicken en aanvullen van voorraden. Hierdoor kan de effici\u00ebntie worden verhoogd en kunnen leverprocessen worden versneld.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Voor ons is het bijzonder belangrijk om onze supply chains consequent te optimaliseren. Orderpicking-robots zijn daarbij zeer effectief,&#8221; zegt Markus Voss, Global CIO &amp; COO DHL Supply Chain. &#8220;Tot nu toe zijn er al meer dan 500 van deze Assisted Picking-robots in onze magazijnen in de VS, Europa en het Verenigd Koninkrijk in industri\u00eble werking. Tegen het einde van 2021 moeten er nog eens 500 robots bijkomen op in totaal meer dan 20 locaties.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Het totale potentieel is nog groter<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Deze collaboratieve orderpicktechnologie heeft zijn effectiviteit en betrouwbaarheid in de moderne magazijnbeheer al bewezen. Voor de resterende robots die we tegen het einde van 2022 zullen uitrollen, zijn al locaties en concrete implementatieplannen ge\u00efdentificeerd. Het totale potentieel voor deze robots in onze DHL-magazijnen is echter nog groter. Daarom zijn we ervan overtuigd dat we de doelen die we samen met Locus Robotics hebben gesteld, zullen bereiken.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Deze uitgebreide implementatie is een verdere stap in de digitaliseringsstrategie van DHL Supply Chain. Assisted Picking-robots helpen om de tijd die nodig is voor het orderpicken met handtrolleys in magazijnen te verminderen, waardoor de fysieke inspanningen worden verminderd en de effici\u00ebntie wordt verhoogd. De te picken goederen worden op een display weergegeven en de robots berekenen de optimale routes door de magazijnen. Bovendien zijn ze zeer eenvoudig te bedienen en kunnen ze snel worden ge\u00efntegreerd in het bestaande systeemlandschap via de Robotics Hub van DHL Supply Chain. De acceptatie van de medewerkers voor de robots is groot. De technologie biedt bovendien een optimale oplossing in tijden van piekoperaties, omdat extra robots snel en met weinig inspanning in de bestaande vloot kunnen worden ge\u00efntegreerd om de orderpickcapaciteit uit te breiden.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Versnelling van nieuwe technologie\u00ebn voor automatisering<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>&#8220;Deze uitbreiding van onze samenwerking met DHL weerspiegelt de wereldwijd toenemende vraag naar digitaliseringsoplossingen in magazijnen, om zo de huidige uitdagingen in e-Fulfillment beter aan te pakken,&#8221; zegt Rick Faulk, CEO van Locus Robotics. &#8220;Locus is trots om zo&#8217;n effectieve technologische bron te kunnen aanbieden die DHL ondersteunt bij de strategische uitvoering van de digitale transformatie.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>De pandemie heeft de bloeiende trend van online handel recentelijk nog versneld, waardoor het arbeidsintensievere orderpickproces in e-Fulfillment een nog grotere en kritischere rol speelt bij het voldoen aan de klantverwachtingen. Deze trend heeft de invoering van nieuwe technologie\u00ebn voor automatisering in verschillende sectoren versneld, vooral in de magazijnsector. DHL Supply Chain evalueert voortdurend welke van de gebruikte technologie\u00ebn ook op lange termijn in de magazijnen zullen worden ge\u00efmplementeerd om de processen verder te optimaliseren. Naast tastbare robotoplossingen richt DHL Supply Chain zich ook op software- en cockpitoplossingen die in real-time informatie geven over de status van het wereldwijde servicelogistieknetwerk.
