De European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) heeft na de groei van de afgelopen jaren ook in 2020 een stijging van de productie van EPAL-pallets geregistreerd. In 2020 werden in totaal 123,5 miljoen EPAL-ladingdragers geproduceerd en gerepareerd.<\/p>\n

(D\u00fcsseldorf) Ondanks de uitdagingen door de Covid-19-pandemie en de stijging van de houtprijzen is de productie van EPAL-pallets in 2020 met 1,14 % gestegen naar 97,3 miljoen pallets (2019: 96,2 miljoen). De meldingen voor de reparatie van EPAL-pallets zijn licht gedaald. In totaal blijft er echter een stijging van de productie en reparatie van EPAL-pallets van 0,5 % naar 123,5 miljoen pallets (2019: 123 miljoen pallets).
\u201eDeze positieve ontwikkeling is gezien de wereldwijde economische terugval als gevolg van de Covid-19-pandemie bijzonder opmerkelijk\u201c, legt Robert Holliger, voorzitter van EPAL, uit. \u201eDe verstoringen van de nationale en internationale toeleveringsketens waren voor de fabrikanten en gebruikers van EPAL Europallets een tot nu toe ongekende uitdaging, die gezamenlijk succesvol is overwonnen.\u201c<\/p>\n

EPAL-ladingdragers zijn een onmisbaar onderdeel van de toeleveringsketens<\/strong><\/h5>\n

De productie en reparatie van EPAL-pallets is door veel Europese landen als systeemrelevant geclassificeerd, omdat de palletlogistiek en met name de open EPAL Europallet-wisselpool van essentieel belang zijn voor het transport van goederen. Om de bevoorrading van consumenten met voedsel en andere consumptiegoederen te waarborgen en om de toeleveringsketens van handel en industrie veilig te stellen, waren en zijn de licentiehouders van EPAL ook tijdens de lockdown te allen tijde leveringscapaciteit.
\u201eHet is voor ons een bijzonder teken van vertrouwen dat grote delen van het transport van Covid-19-vaccins op EPAL Europallets plaatsvinden. EPAL Europallets voldoen aan de hoogste eisen op het gebied van veiligheid en betrouwbaarheid van ladingdragers, vooral ook bij extreme koeling zoals bij het transport van vaccins\u201c, aldus Robert Holliger.
