DHL Express voert aanstaande dinsdag een testvlucht uit onder re\u00eble omstandigheden met een vrachtvliegtuig dat zoals gebruikelijk in de dagelijkse operatie is geladen. De A330-200F moet bijzonder brandstofeffici\u00ebnt vliegen en daarmee vooral minder kerosine verbruiken en de CO2-uitstoot verminderen.<\/p>\n

(Leipzig\/New York) DHL Express voert in de nacht van dinsdag op woensdag een bijzondere testvlucht uit. Het doel: Tijdens zijn vlucht van de DHL Hub in Leipzig naar de JFK International Airport in New York City moet de A330-200F bijzonder brandstofeffici\u00ebnt vliegen en daarmee vooral minder kerosine verbruiken en de CO2-uitstoot verminderen.<\/p>\n

Dit wordt mogelijk gemaakt door onder andere de momenteel relatief lege luchtvaartruimten als gevolg van de verminderde luchtverkeersdruk door de gevolgen van Covid-19. De uitvoerende DHL luchtvaartmaatschappij European Air Transport GmbH heeft op weg naar de “perfecte vlucht” meer dan 50 mogelijkheden ge\u00efdentificeerd om brandstof te besparen en daarmee ook de uitstoot van CO2 te verminderen. Deze vari\u00ebren van een speciale reiniging van de motoren ter verbetering van de aerodynamica tot een geoptimaliseerde route met behulp van moderne vluchtplanningssystemen en de optimale vertrekroute (doorlopende klim naar de kruishoogte vanaf Leipzig\/Halle, zoveel mogelijk horizontale vluchtfasen), tot het ideale naderingsproced\u00e9 in New York City, waarbij het vliegtuig met minimale motorprestaties kan dalen.<\/p>\n
