Questa iniziativa segue un memorandum d&#8217;intesa (MoU) firmato nel giugno 2025 durante il Paris Air Show tra le due aziende.<\/p>\n<h3>Focus sulla tecnologia dell&#8217;idrogeno<\/h3>\n<p>La nuova azienda avr\u00e0 una struttura organizzativa agile per accelerare lo sviluppo della tecnologia, il design, i test e la certificazione di un innovativo sistema di propulsione per l&#8217;aviazione basato su celle a combustibile a idrogeno. Airbus e MTU porteranno le loro competenze e diversi team di ingegneria e produzione da entrambe le organizzazioni nella joint venture.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;accordo non vincolante \u00e8 soggetto all&#8217;approvazione delle autorit\u00e0 competenti e all&#8217;attuazione di processi sociali a livello europeo e nazionale. L&#8217;avvio della joint venture \u00e8 previsto per il 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Bruno Fichefeux, responsabile dei programmi futuri di Airbus, ha dichiarato:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201eLa nostra joint venture pianificata \u00e8 il prossimo passo logico nella nostra visione comune di un concetto di propulsione basato sull&#8217;idrogeno per l&#8217;aviazione. Unendo le nostre tecnologie e competenze in un&#8217;unit\u00e0 specializzata, creiamo una forza europea in grado di trasformare la ricerca avanzata in sistemi di propulsione elettrici industrializzati e certificabili.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dr. Stefan Weber, Senior Vice President Engineering e Tecnologia di MTU Aero Engines, ha sottolineato:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201eIl nostro ambizioso obiettivo \u00e8 quello di aprire la strada a un sistema di propulsione nuovo, sicuro, affidabile ed economico, che contribuisca all&#8217;aviazione climaneutrale. Questo progetto \u00e8 un passo cruciale nel nostro percorso verso il primo sistema di propulsione a idrogeno.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>L&#8217;idrogeno ha il potenziale di ridurre significativamente l&#8217;impatto climatico dell&#8217;aviazione a lungo termine e di trasformare il trasporto aereo in modo simile a come i veicoli elettrici hanno trasformato l&#8217;industria automobilistica.<\/p>\n<h3>Puntare alla leadership tecnologica<\/h3>\n<p>La joint venture sar\u00e0 guidata dal comune impegno dei partner di creare un leader tecnologico in questo settore e di fornire il primo sistema di propulsione a celle a combustibile basato sull&#8217;idrogeno per aerei di linea. Essa combiner\u00e0 l&#8217;ampia conoscenza di Airbus nel settore degli aerei di linea con l&#8217;esperienza pluriennale di MTU nello sviluppo di tecnologie a celle a combustibile e l&#8217;esperienza riconosciuta nella progettazione, integrazione, validazione e certificazione dei motori.<\/p>\n<p>Oltre alle tecnologie di propulsione, Airbus e MTU promuoveranno anche lo sviluppo di un&#8217;economia dell&#8217;aviazione a idrogeno e il relativo quadro normativo, che rappresentano anch&#8217;essi prerequisiti fondamentali per l&#8217;uso su larga scala di voli a idrogeno.<\/p>\n<p>Nel marzo 2025, Airbus aveva gi\u00e0 annunciato di concentrare gli sforzi su un sistema di propulsione completamente elettrico con celle a combustibile. I risultati dei test sui prototipi di celle a combustibile e sui sistemi di propulsione, cos\u00ec come la ricerca su tecnologie complementari come la criogenia, supportano la fattibilit\u00e0 di questa tecnologia.
