Secondo il rapporto semestrale pubblicato il 12 marzo 2026 dall&#8217;Ufficio federale dei trasporti (BAV), la ferrovia ha nuovamente perso quote di mercato a favore della strada. La quota della ferrovia nel trasporto merci transalpino \u00e8 scesa al 68,6%, corrispondente a un calo di 1,7 punti percentuali rispetto all&#8217;anno precedente. Mentre il numero di camion che attraversano le Alpi \u00e8 rimasto costante a 960.000, il trasporto ferroviario ha registrato un calo del 7,5%.<\/p>\n<h3>Cause del calo<\/h3>\n<p>Le cause di questo calo sono molteplici. Un fattore essenziale \u00e8 la qualit\u00e0 e l&#8217;affidabilit\u00e0 insufficienti del trasporto merci su ferrovia, in particolare lungo gli assi nord-sud europei. I cantieri e le interruzioni di linea in Germania hanno ulteriormente aggravato la situazione. Questi problemi infrastrutturali, combinati con un contesto economico teso, hanno reso il trasporto ferroviario meno attraente per le aziende di trasporto.<\/p>\n<h3>Il Consiglio federale pianifica misure correttive<\/h3>\n<p>Per contrastare questo sviluppo, il Consiglio federale ha annunciato nel rapporto di trasferimento alla fine del 2025 l&#8217;estensione dei contributi operativi per il trasporto combinato, validi fino al 2030. Le relative mozioni delle commissioni dei trasporti del Consiglio nazionale e del Consiglio degli Stati sono state richieste per l&#8217;approvazione. Queste misure dovrebbero fornire alle aziende di trasporto una sicurezza di pianificazione e investimento a lungo termine. Inoltre, sono previsti incentivi finanziari temporanei per attenuare gli effetti della prevista cessazione della &#8222;Strada rotolante&#8220; a partire da dicembre 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Un ulteriore passo del Consiglio federale \u00e8 la promozione di una rapida modernizzazione delle infrastrutture ferroviarie nei paesi vicini. Il Consiglio federale si impegner\u00e0 affinch\u00e9 i lavori di costruzione siano ben coordinati a livello internazionale e siano disponibili sufficienti opzioni di deviazione performanti per il trasporto merci su ferrovia. Queste misure dovrebbero contribuire a rafforzare la competitivit\u00e0 del trasporto ferroviario e aumentare l&#8217;attrattiva del traffico merci transalpino nel suo complesso.<\/p>\n<h3><a
