Selon le rapport semestriel publi\u00e9 le 12 mars 2026 par l&#8217;Office f\u00e9d\u00e9ral des transports (OFT), le rail a de nouveau perdu des parts de march\u00e9 au profit de la route. La part du rail dans le transport de marchandises transalpin a chut\u00e9 \u00e0 68,6 pour cent, ce qui repr\u00e9sente une baisse de 1,7 point de pourcentage par rapport \u00e0 l&#8217;ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. Alors que le nombre de camions traversant les Alpes est rest\u00e9 constant \u00e0 960 000, le transport ferroviaire a enregistr\u00e9 une baisse de 7,5 pour cent.<\/p>\n<h3>Causes de la baisse<\/h3>\n<p>Les causes de cette baisse sont multiples. Un facteur essentiel est la qualit\u00e9 et la fiabilit\u00e9 insuffisantes du transport ferroviaire de marchandises, en particulier le long des axes nord-sud europ\u00e9ens. Les chantiers et les interruptions de lignes en Allemagne ont aggrav\u00e9 la situation. Ces probl\u00e8mes d&#8217;infrastructure, combin\u00e9s \u00e0 un environnement \u00e9conomique tendu, ont conduit \u00e0 rendre le transport ferroviaire moins attrayant pour les entreprises de transport.<\/p>\n<h3>Le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral pr\u00e9voit des mesures<\/h3>\n<p>Pour contrer cette \u00e9volution, le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral a annonc\u00e9 dans le rapport de transfert fin 2025 qu&#8217;il prolongerait les contributions d&#8217;exploitation temporaires pour le transport combin\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;en 2030. Les motions correspondantes des commissions des transports du Conseil national et du Conseil des \u00c9tats ont \u00e9t\u00e9 demand\u00e9es pour adoption. Ces mesures visent \u00e0 offrir aux entreprises de transport une s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de planification et d&#8217;investissement \u00e0 long terme. De plus, des incitations financi\u00e8res temporaires sont pr\u00e9vues pour att\u00e9nuer les effets de l&#8217;arr\u00eat pr\u00e9vu de la \u00ab Route roulante \u00bb \u00e0 partir de d\u00e9cembre 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Une autre \u00e9tape du Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral est la promotion d&#8217;une modernisation rapide de l&#8217;infrastructure ferroviaire dans les pays voisins. Le Conseil f\u00e9d\u00e9ral s&#8217;engagera \u00e0 ce que les travaux de construction soient bien coordonn\u00e9s au niveau international et que des alternatives de contournement suffisamment performantes pour le transport ferroviaire de marchandises soient disponibles. Ces mesures visent \u00e0 renforcer la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 du transport ferroviaire et \u00e0 accro\u00eetre l&#8217;attractivit\u00e9 du transport de marchandises transalpin dans son
