Seg\u00fan el informe semestral publicado el 12 de marzo de 2026 por la Oficina Federal de Transporte (BAV), el ferrocarril ha perdido nuevamente cuota de mercado frente a la carretera. La participaci\u00f3n del ferrocarril en el transporte de mercanc\u00edas a trav\u00e9s de los Alpes cay\u00f3 al 68,6 por ciento, lo que representa una disminuci\u00f3n de 1,7 puntos porcentuales en comparaci\u00f3n con el a\u00f1o anterior. Mientras que el n\u00famero de camiones que atravesaron los Alpes se mantuvo constante en 960.000, el transporte ferroviario experiment\u00f3 una disminuci\u00f3n del 7,5 por ciento.<\/p>\n<h3>Causas de la disminuci\u00f3n<\/h3>\n<p>Las causas de esta disminuci\u00f3n son diversas. Un factor esencial es la calidad y fiabilidad insuficientes del transporte de mercanc\u00edas por ferrocarril, especialmente a lo largo de los ejes norte-sur europeos. Las obras y las interrupciones de las l\u00edneas en Alemania han agravado a\u00fan m\u00e1s la situaci\u00f3n. Estos problemas de infraestructura, combinados con un entorno econ\u00f3mico tenso, han llevado a que el transporte ferroviario sea menos atractivo para las empresas de transporte.<\/p>\n<h3>El Consejo Federal planea medidas correctivas<\/h3>\n<p>Para contrarrestar esta evoluci\u00f3n, el Consejo Federal anunci\u00f3 en el informe de desplazamiento a finales de 2025 la extensi\u00f3n de las contribuciones operativas limitadas hasta 2030 para el transporte combinado. Las correspondientes mociones de las comisiones de transporte del Consejo Nacional y del Consejo de Estados han sido solicitadas para su aprobaci\u00f3n. Estas medidas tienen como objetivo proporcionar a las empresas de transporte una seguridad de planificaci\u00f3n e inversi\u00f3n a largo plazo. Adem\u00e1s, se prev\u00e9n incentivos financieros temporales para mitigar los efectos de la prevista eliminaci\u00f3n de la &#8222;Carretera Rodante&#8220; a partir de diciembre de 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Otro paso del Consejo Federal es fomentar una r\u00e1pida modernizaci\u00f3n de la infraestructura ferroviaria en los pa\u00edses vecinos. El Consejo Federal se comprometer\u00e1 a que las obras se coordinen bien a nivel internacional y que haya suficientes opciones de desv\u00edo eficientes para el transporte de mercanc\u00edas por ferrocarril. Estas medidas tienen como objetivo fortalecer la competitividad del transporte ferroviario y aumentar la atractividad del transporte de mercanc\u00edas a trav\u00e9s de los Alpes en
