The vehicle manufacturer is focusing on companies with smaller fleets and the construction industry. To enhance the efficiency and environmental friendliness of its vehicles, Ford Trucks is relying on the retarder technology from Driventic, as reported by the provider of drive technologies.<\/p>\n<h3>Partnership with Driventic<\/h3>\n<p>Driventic, a company that emerged from the drive division of the technology group Voith, has been a long-standing partner of Ford Trucks for the supply of retarders. This technology is used in the Ecotorq transmission, which is developed and produced by Ford itself. Since 2021, over 10,000 Ford Trucks have been equipped with Driventic&#8217;s R 115CT retarders.<\/p>\n<p>According to the manufacturer, Driventic&#8217;s hydrodynamic retarders allow buses and trucks to perform about 90 percent of all braking operations without wear. This technology is intended to relieve the service brakes, thereby reducing costs for spare parts and maintenance. Additionally, the retarders provide a safety advantage: in critical driving situations, such as adaptive braking on the highway or long downhill stretches, conventional friction brakes can reach high temperatures, which impairs their braking performance. In contrast, according to Driventic, the service brakes remain cool when using the retarder and can be deployed at full capacity in emergency situations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.driventic.com\/de-de\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.driventic.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ford Trucks has been relying on Driventic&#8217;s retarder technology for years.
