J.S. Logistics, a family-owned logistics service provider based in Kirkel (Saarland), Germany, has put five fully electric MAN eTGX trucks into operational use in collaboration with MAN Truck & Bus SE. These vehicles are deployed on cross-border routes in Europe, connecting logistics centers in Germany, Western Europe, Poland, Austria, and other locations in Eastern Europe. The goal is to transport supply components efficiently and emissions-free to MAN’s production sites in Munich, Nuremberg, and Salzgitter.<\/p>\n

The integration of the eTGX trucks into J.S. Logistics‘ logistics processes represents another step in the development of sustainable logistics concepts. „We are pleased to advance the electrification of logistics together with MAN,“ explains Jerome Sch\u00fcssler (M.), Managing Director of J.S. Logistics.<\/p>\n

Efficient transport solutions through electromobility<\/h3>\n

The new MAN eTGX trucks will be used on both direct routes and in consolidated transport via central transshipment points. On the route between L\u00e9b\u00e9ny in Hungary and Munich, which is approximately 520 km, a relay system is employed: two trucks approach each other and exchange their trailers along the way. These transports are conducted as full truck loads (FTL), where the entire customer load is transported without intermediate stops. Another truck transports consolidated goods from the logistics center in Gy\u0151r, Hungary, to the MAN plants, primarily in Munich.<\/p>\n

Additionally, three eTGX trucks are in operation through the logistics center in Kirkel. From there, deliveries from France, Spain\/Portugal, as well as the United Kingdom and Ireland are primarily transported to the plants in Munich and Nuremberg.<\/p>\n

Sustainable transformation of supply chains<\/h3>\n

The integration of electric trucks is part of a comprehensive transformation program aimed at decarbonizing supply chains in the area of inbound logistics. Since autumn 2024, MAN has been working on the gradual integration of battery-electric trucks into its own logistics network. Overall, the trucks in MAN’s inbound operations cover up to 165 million km annually. By mid-2026, around 50 vehicles are expected to be in use for inbound transport, while simultaneously expanding the charging infrastructure at MAN locations and service points.<\/p>\n

A significant portion of the routes in several European countries is already electrified or in preparation. MAN Transport Solutions supports customers in transitioning to electromobility through comprehensive consulting services, ranging from analyzing usage cycles to integrating into existing operational processes.<\/p>\n

Additionally, as part of the „Electrifying Outbound“ initiative, vehicle delivery will also be further decarbonized, aiming to reduce CO\u2082 emissions by 30 percent by 2030.<\/p>\n

The handover of the five MAN eTGX trucks took place at the MAN Truck Forum in Munich, where Friedrich Baumann, Board Member for Sales and Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus, handed over the vehicles to Jerome Sch\u00fcssler. The trucks are now in daily logistics operations at J.S. Logistics.<\/p>\n
