The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Multi-Flux platform for the preparation and distribution of French mail in Saint-Avold recently took place in the presence of numerous partners and official representatives.<\/p>\n

The new platform will be built on a redeveloped industrial site covering over 23,000 m\u00b2. A hall for processing packages with an area of 4,880 m\u00b2 is planned, complemented by office and logistics spaces designed to optimize operational workflows. The construction is being developed by M\u00e9l\u00e8ze Invest and realized by Groupe Elcima\u00ef as well as Elcima\u00ef Conseil, engineering and architecture. The platform will employ 60 delivery personnel and 40 staff for sorting, collection, and distribution activities. A semi-automated sorting machine with an area of approximately 1,500 m\u00b2 will be capable of processing up to 10,000 packages per day. Additionally, the Log’issimo service for businesses and municipalities will be implemented there.<\/p>\n

Sustainability in focus<\/h3>\n

A central concern of the project is environmental compatibility. The building will feature a mixed wood-concrete structure and aims for certification as „Tr\u00e8s Performant“ under the HQE B\u00e2timent Durable framework as well as the BiodiverCity label. A photovoltaic system on the roof will contribute to the site’s self-sufficiency. The offices and production area will be heated by air\/water and air\/air heat pumps, promoting efficiency and decarbonization.<\/p>\n

Further eco-friendly measures include permeable parking areas to promote rainwater infiltration, water management basins for collecting rainwater for sanitary purposes, and landscaping with native plant species selected in collaboration with an ecologist to preserve the site’s biodiversity. Half of the parking spaces will be equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles, while the other half is prepared for future electric mobility.<\/p>\n

The project meets the requirements of RT2012 for operational areas and RE2020 for office spaces, underscoring the commitment to responsible logistics.<\/p>\n

The groundbreaking was recognized by the attending partners, representatives of local politics, and other project stakeholders as an important step for the development of this strategic area at the cross-border interface of France, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg.<\/p>\n
