The dashboard is available free of charge to customers using the Hyster-Tracker telemetry solution at level 2, enabling wireless access to the collected data.<\/p>\n<h3>Accident Prevention Detection System<\/h3>\n<p>The dashboard detects pedestrians within a five-meter radius of the forklift and provides companies with the opportunity to minimize the risk of accidents between pedestrians and forklifts. The information provided can be used to adjust pedestrian zones, conduct discussions with drivers, or take other safety-related measures.<\/p>\n<p>The camera system is based on extensive real-world photo data, allowing for precise tracking of physical characteristics of individuals. It is capable of adapting to different lighting and environmental conditions. The dashboard delivers comprehensive statistics on detection events per day and forklift, including the total number of events, their location, and the distance of pedestrians from the forklift. Additionally, it records whether the forklift was in motion or stationary, including date and time.<\/p>\n<p>Clay Hendricks, Global Telemetry Product Manager at Hyster, emphasizes the importance of the new dashboard: \u201cChallenging material handling applications are already characterized by harsh conditions, meaning that companies cannot afford to take on additional safety risks due to improper driver behavior. With this dashboard, businesses receive the information they need to address safety concerns, ensure smooth operations within their teams, and achieve the required efficiency and productivity goals day after day.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Warning System for Forklift Operators<\/h3>\n<p>The camera system detects pedestrians and provides the necessary data for the dashboard. Within a 110-degree field of view, it accurately captures individuals up to a distance of five meters. Forklift operators are automatically warned, with both acoustic and visual alarms available. Additionally, optional traction alarms can be integrated, which automatically and gradually slow down the forklift. The driver has the option to avoid the pedestrian by slowing down, steering away, or both.
