Ahead of the visit, the Vice-Chair of the Transport Committee and head of the delegation, Sophia Kircher (EPP, AT), commented on the goals of the trip. She emphasized that the transport sector is undergoing rapid change driven by digitalization and artificial intelligence. \u201cMany developments that were once only imaginable in science fiction films are now becoming reality,\u201d Kircher stated. The delegation sees the trip as an opportunity to exchange ideas with U.S. colleagues, particularly regarding the future of mobility, passenger rights, infrastructure financing, resilient supply chains, and trade relations.<\/p>\n
