The K\u00f6gel Trailer GmbH has further advanced the strategic development of its production site in Choce\u0148, Czech Republic. With multi-million investments, the subsidiary K\u00f6gel s.r.o. is being expanded into a modern technology center, significantly increasing production capacities. These measures aim to solidify the long-term importance of the site within the corporate structure.<\/p>\n

Last year, initial steps were already taken to optimize production processes. An existing warehouse was converted into a fully equipped production facility with an area of approximately 1,000 m\u00b2. This new facility houses an automated laser cutting center as well as a modern bending and folding machine.<\/p>\n

Efficiency Increase Through Modern Technologies<\/h3>\n

The extensive investment aims to make frame production more efficient and cost-effective by accelerating the entire production process. This also enhances supply security, as production processes can be designed to be more independent of external supply chains. In addition to the frames for K\u00f6gel trailers, of which several hundred are produced weekly, complete vehicles are also manufactured in Choce\u0148. The introduction of new manufacturing technologies has also led to the creation of additional jobs at the site. Output is expected to gradually increase in the coming months, with the goal of fully utilizing the plant’s capacities by 2028.<\/p>\n

The new facilities come from the technology company Trumpf based in Ditzingen, which specializes in machine tools and lasers for industrial manufacturing. Trumpf comprehensively supported the project, from the installation of the machines to the integration of processes and successful commissioning.<\/p>\n

Markus Siegner, CEO of K\u00f6gel Trailer GmbH, emphasizes: \u201cThe site in Choce\u0148 has been a central part of our production strategy for years and holds high strategic relevance. With this investment, we are specifically strengthening our manufacturing competence while ensuring a reliable supply of frames for our trailers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Outlook on Future Developments<\/h3>\n

Further investments in the Czech site are planned for the current year. The goal is to continuously modernize production processes and equip the site for future requirements. By summer 2026, the installation of a new welding robot system for tipper bodies and vehicle frames is scheduled. Additionally, a photovoltaic system will soon be put into operation, which will further supply the production with electricity.<\/p>\n

The plant in Choce\u0148 has been part of the K\u00f6gel Group since 1996 and plays a central role in the production of K\u00f6gel vehicles. Currently, around 350 employees are working there.<\/p>\n
