The board of BLG LOGISTICS presented the results of the fiscal year 2025 at the balance sheet press conference today. The company’s revenue amounted to 1.2 billion euros, representing a decline of 4.5 percent or 55 million euros compared to the previous year. EBIT was 87.2 million euros, exceeding the planned assumptions, while EBT remained slightly below the previous year’s figure at 77.4 million euros. Despite the challenging conditions, the company was able to achieve solid results.<\/p>\n

Matthias Magnor, CEO of the BLG Group, explained the challenges of the year: „2025 was characterized by a simultaneity that was significant: the unpredictable customs policy of the US government, ongoing wars, and a sluggish economy. As logistics providers, we feel every shock immediately. But in every shock lies not only risk but also opportunity \u2013 for new solutions, necessary adjustments, and faster responsiveness.“<\/p>\n

Developments in the Business Areas<\/h3>\n

The three business areas of BLG, AUTOMOBILE, CONTRACT, and CONTAINER, showed different developments. The AUTOMOBILE sector was able to increase its results despite declining vehicle volumes. Revenue slightly decreased to 678 million euros, influenced by the economy and US tariffs. Axel Krichel, COO of the BLG Group, emphasized the need for innovative solutions in automotive logistics: „New mobility models present companies and fleet operators with new challenges. Innovative, comprehensive network solutions in automotive logistics are in demand.“<\/p>\n

In the CONTRACT sector, revenue fell from 536 to 488 million euros. Declines in automotive parts and industrial logistics, as well as the effects of US tariffs, weighed on the results. Nevertheless, countermeasures such as cost management and a focus on high-margin activities are showing initial successes. For 2026, a stabilization of revenue and a slight increase in results are expected.<\/p>\n

The CONTAINER sector made a significant contribution to the overall results. The at-equity accounted investment in EUROGATE achieved a post-tax result of 56.6 million euros. The German container terminals recorded a volume growth of around 21 percent, totaling approximately 8.8 million standard containers. Michael Blach, board member, highlighted the importance of free trade routes for global trade: „Free and secure trade routes are central to global trade.“<\/p>\n

Employee Engagement and Training Initiatives<\/h3>\n

The fiscal year 2025 was guided by the motto „Together.“ Ulrike Riedel, Chief Human Resources Officer, emphasized the contribution of employees to the company’s success: „10,452 people work for the BLG LOGISTICS Group. Each and every one of them made this result possible.“ On average, BLG employed 8,838 employees in fully consolidated companies. The collective bargaining coverage stands at 98.1 percent, which is a high value in the logistics industry.<\/p>\n

Training remains a central focus of the company. In 2025, 222 trainees in commercial and technical professions as well as dual bachelor’s degree programs were supported. With a training rate of 2.8 percent, BLG exceeded its self-imposed target of 2.0 percent.<\/p>\n

Progress in Sustainability<\/h3>\n

In the reporting year, the BLG Group made significant progress in climate-friendly logistics. As part of the „Mission Climate,“ greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) were reduced by 45.3 percent compared to the base year 2018. The target for 2030 is a reduction of 50.4 percent. Since 2025, BLG has fully covered its entire electricity demand from renewable energies.<\/p>\n

Outlook for 2026<\/h3>\n

Despite the challenging conditions, the board looks cautiously optimistic toward the year 2026. Revenue is expected to remain at the previous year’s level, while EBT is anticipated to be below the 2025 figure but will remain in the double-digit million range. Matthias Magnor concluded the balance sheet press conference with the words: „Resilience does not arise in isolation. It arises in solidarity \u2013 with our employees, with our customers, with our partners.“<\/p>\n
