These trucks are used in daily freight, line, and long-distance transport at its locations in Vienna, P\u00f6chlarn, Wels, and Hall in Tirol, as well as at its headquarters in Lauterach. The eActros 600 is utilized by Gebr\u00fcder Weiss in both regional transport and the more demanding line and long-distance transport. This is supported by a company-owned charging infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe eActros 600 is a true game changer. It proves that electric trucks are no longer a thing of the future, but a reality \u2013 not only in distribution transport but also in national and international long-distance transport,\u201d says Jens Tittel, Managing Director of Daimler Truck Austria. \u201cFor a successful transformation, the right products, a functioning charging infrastructure, and customers who are willing to take bold steps are essential. We thank Gebr\u00fcder Weiss for their investments and their clear commitment to CO\u2082-neutral transport solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For over 500 years, Gebr\u00fcder Weiss has stood for continuity across generations and the ambition to rethink logistics continually. Since sustainable business practices must be long-term, the company has proactively embraced e-mobility in the heavy-duty sector. \u201cA company can only be successful in the long run if it operates sustainably and plans investments for the long term,\u201d says J\u00fcrgen Bauer, a member of the management board of Gebr\u00fcder Weiss. \u201cThat\u2019s why we decided early on to pursue an electric strategy. We have been collaborating with Daimler Truck in the combustion engine sector for ten years. For us, technological leadership, efficiency, and safety are decisive factors. The eActros 600 was the first to meet the range requirements in our network operations \u2013 and with Daimler Truck&#8217;s Europe-wide service network, the overall package fits our needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A central component of the electrification strategy is the company-owned energy and charging infrastructure. Since public charging options for electric trucks are still insufficient in many areas, Gebr\u00fcder Weiss has established its own charging and energy supply systems at several locations in Austria and southern Germany. Energy is sourced from the company\u2019s own photovoltaic system or from certified green electricity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur customers expect reliability and punctuality even with emission-free transport,\u201d emphasizes Stefan Oberhauser, Branch Manager of Land &amp; Logistics Vorarlberg at Gebr\u00fcder Weiss. \u201cWith our own energy supply and the new vehicle solutions, sustainable transport on the road can be ideally realized. Additionally, the vehicles can recharge while loading or unloading goods \u2013 without additional downtime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The electric trucks at the Vorarlberg location (Austria) are in operation day and night. They are used for regional transport in Vorarlberg, for routes to Switzerland and Germany, as well as for line transport towards Hall in Tirol and Freiburg im Breisgau. Oberhauser states, \u201cE-mobility also means a new mindset \u2013 more planning, clean load management, and a scheduling that intelligently integrates charging times. It also highlights where infrastructure and framework conditions still need to catch up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gebr\u00fcder Weiss plans to expand its own charging infrastructure at additional locations to conduct tours even more independently of external charging stations. By the end of 2026, the electric fleet in Austria is expected to grow to a total of 25 Mercedes-Benz eActros.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.daimlertruck.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
