The H\u00f6lkemeier Spedition GmbH has announced the expansion of its network of locations in North Rhine-Westphalia. A new logistics center will be built on the former Meyra site in the Kalldorf district. The subsidiary of the Braker L.I.T. Group is investing approximately 20 million euros, in collaboration with ESM Ertl Systemlogistik GmbH & Co. KG, to establish a European central warehouse for the household products of the Melitta Group.<\/p>\n

Planned Infrastructure and Jobs<\/h3>\n

Before the deconstruction work on the site begins, the future use is already determined. The existing administrative building will be demolished, while the high-bay warehouse and the adjacent existing storage hall, covering an area of approximately 18,000 m\u00b2, will be preserved and integrated into the new logistics concept. Additionally, new halls with a usable area of around 19,000 m\u00b2 are planned.<\/p>\n

The new logistics center is expected to create about 50 jobs. Employees are being sought at various qualification levels, including commercial staff for the warehouse, specialists for logistics processes, and IT experts.<\/p>\n

Lars H\u00f6lkemeier, Managing Director of H\u00f6lkemeier Spedition GmbH and ESM Ertl Systemlogistik GmbH & Co. KG, commented on the plans: \u201cWith the new logistics center in Kalletal, we are strategically expanding our collaboration with Melitta and will consolidate European goods flows at a central location. It is important for us to attract qualified employees from the region. Short distances between home and workplace create stability and strengthen the connection to the location.\u201d<\/p>\n

Efficient Logistics Processes and Sustainable Orientation<\/h3>\n

The new logistics center will be designed for structured goods storage and demand-oriented distribution. Goods will be stored centrally and efficiently delivered in pallets to the European markets. Clearly planned goods flows and coordinated processes are intended to ensure a stable and well-manageable operational workflow. Additionally, the use of electrically operated trucks will support low-emission logistics.<\/p>\n

The sustainable orientation of the project builds on previous investments by the corporate group. Last year, a new logistics hall with a comprehensive photovoltaic system was put into operation at the Regioport in Minden. E-trucks are already in use there for shuttle traffic.<\/p>\n

Julian Lachnitt, a board member of the L.I.T. Group, emphasized the significance of the investment: \u201cThe investment in Kalletal underscores our long-term growth strategy in contract logistics. With modern infrastructures, energy-efficient concepts, and digitally controlled processes, we are laying the foundation for sustainable and scalable logistics solutions in Europe. At the same time, we are specifically strengthening our regional presence in East Westphalia-Lippe.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the new central warehouse, the L.I.T. Group is expanding its capacities in the consumer goods logistics sector and solidifying its position as a partner for international brand manufacturers.<\/p>\n
