This new service is aimed at companies in the South Caucasus that regularly import products from China, including electronics, consumer goods, and spare parts for machinery and vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The collection of goods takes place nationwide in China, where shipments are consolidated at several locations, including Shanghai and Urumqi. Gebr\u00fcder Weiss then transports the goods by truck to the Chinese-Kazakh border at Khorgos. From there, the route leads through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, and Azerbaijan to the Georgian capital. The transport time from Khorgos to Tbilisi is approximately 22 to 25 days.<\/p>\n<h3>Economic Transport Solution for Smaller Shipments<\/h3>\n<p>The new truck service is particularly designed for smaller shipment volumes. Several deliveries from different customers are transported together, enabling an economical and regular dispatch of smaller quantities of goods. Yongquan Chen, General Manager China at Gebr\u00fcder Weiss, emphasizes the advantages of the new offering: \u201cWe provide nationwide collection in China and consolidate shipments through our locations in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Urumqi. With the weekly connection to Tbilisi and the possibility to increase frequency with rising demand, we are providing exporters with reliable access to the Caucasus region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The logistics terminal in Tbilisi (photo), which has already been expanded for the third time in 2024, serves as a distribution center for goods within Georgia as well as to neighboring countries Armenia and Azerbaijan. Alexander Kharlamov, Country Manager Georgia at Gebr\u00fcder Weiss, highlights that many companies desire stable delivery times and predictable costs. The groupage transport offers a solution that operates independently of fixed schedules or limited capacities in rail transport.<\/p>\n<h3>Expansion of the Trade Route via Central Asia<\/h3>\n<p>With the new truck connection, Gebr\u00fcder Weiss is strengthening its activities along the Middle Corridor, a significant trade route between China and Europe via Central Asia and the Caucasus. The goal is to provide companies in these growth markets with additional transport options and to broaden supply chains.
